It's been a long time since EA announced that it would be bringing back the Skate series, and we've seen no proper gameplay until now — but it was worth the wait, because this game looks like it's shaping up very well indeed.
In the new trailer, the development team explains that they're simply still working on Skate 4 (or whatever it ends up being called), showing a lot of rough footage before transitioning to a very pretty bit of gameplay towards the end.
It's also been announced today that Skate 4 is opening up invitations for playtesting via the Skate Insider service, although access to playtests isn't guaranteed, and these are PC only for now, with other platforms set to join over time.
"We told you we’re back, and we’re still working on it - but it’s time for you to see what we’ve been up to. It’s still early, but we want to get this right and that means we want you to be a part of it."
What do you think of this new Skate 4 footage? Tell us down in the comments section below.

Looks great. I used to play either skate 1 2 or 3 (can't remember which, one of the 3) with a friend at university on the 360. Loads of fun. This looks really nice. Nice to see a next gen skate game.
o.O cannot wait for this!
damn i wish the alpha was for xbox too
It's amazing how it took them so long to make something that is in such high demand.
One of my fav games series, cannot wait for this to return. I don't even skate in real life but these games are just amazing.
