Rumour: Banjo-Kazooie Revival Could Be Announced At Xbox Showcase 2022

Rare Replay for PC perhaps with the 360 games included in the collection rather than the Xbox approach of loading up the 360 games? Rare Replay and Halo 5 are the only non-Kinect XB1 games that aren't on PC and are still purchasable on XB1.

Dude i would love a Banjo Remake of the first games.. C'mon Xbox showcase, Please dont disappoint..

Really hope it's a new, single player, platformer. Wild that I need to be that specific with my hopes, but it is what it is.

I don't think we'll see anything Banjo related tomorrow. Rare is already working on so much stuff, so theoretically double fine would be the other candidate but I doubt they want to make banjo. Even though Xbox needs more brand icons and need more platform or family friendly content in general I doubt it will come soon.

It's probably the old games in HD collection. Even if they anounce a new one, we won't get to play it until 2028. Considering Xbox is now taking 6 years to develop a game.

I hope so. Would probably be the highlight of the whole showcase for me if it’s a full new game.

If it’s real it takes away the surprise at the announcement and if it ain’t real it only crushes your expectations.

@BBB You shouldn’t expect any big announcement for a AAA exclusive coming this year though, even now that they have tons of studios they just can’t speed up the development of a AAA game to replace Starfield.

We just gotta accept that this year there’ll be any new big game coming from Xbox other than Forza Motorsport and the remastered Gears collection, however next year is already shaping up to be great.

People forget that banjo 3 will only be a legitimate banjo 3 if the team is equal to the original Banjo Kazooie devs. They’d better have a seriously world class team on it if they want a true successor. And yes, as others here have said, nuts and bolts 2 is a very big no-no.

@Lavalera I was thinking the same thing, Rare is busy and Double Fine wants to work on their own projects they’ve had on the back burners. What other studio would work on it? I can’t think of another studio Xbox owns, but what if it’s not an Xbox studio? Maybe they hired a studio to work on a Banjo project for them. Maybe we will find out tomorrow.

@EvilSilentFrame Yep, same here 😊. I wonder if Rare and Playtonic could work on it as a dream team. There are also people from Activision that have worked on Crash, Spyro and Skylanders. Like Fable, the most important thing is the writer and director! Banjo and Kazooie have a lot of charm. Actually, every character in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie has it.

@Banjo- rare and platonic together is a dream for sure! Getting the team back and working on Banjo would be the best way to go.

If they don’t have a full team, there’s that fan who remade 1 and 2 and then created worlds for a 3rd. The videos of the world levels are very creative. If MS hasn’t started anything on Banjo, I think they could tap into that fan or ask for some help from them. Their work so far is beautiful and I can see their ideas working with a future Banjo game.

@Banjo- they only created all the worlds in the remakes and their version of what 3 would look like. I found it on YouTube. There’s no actual gameplay. The YouTube channel is “Project Dream”.

@Banjo- Not long till we find out, we can but hope. A remaster double pack for a late 2022 release with a new game also announced would be ideal.

Get Rare/Playtonic together as you say with some help from the Crash/Spyro guys at Activision to help make them.

@BANJO We're more than ready, especially after seeing the videos in the Project Dream YouTube channel. By the way, Project Dream was the prototype name for Banjo-Kazooie.

@Banjo- correct, there’s no game demo. Not sure if there were legal reasons. They only created the environments. I still found it fun to watch and imagine what it would be like to play.

@EvilSilentFrame The hot-air balloon is a suitable idea. I often watch the Nuts & Bolts introduction that presents another nice Spiral Mountain recreation and a beautiful version of the theme.

@PhileasFragg I was thinking it could be possible. This last show was all the games that were “supposed” to release in the next 12 months. So if the Banjo game is true, it must be outside that 12 month window. I’ll still take it!
