Update: Well, this came true! Microsoft has revealed a whole bunch of new Xbox features.
Original story: An interesting new report has appeared at Exputer courtesy of well-known journalist and reliable leaker Tom Henderson, who has claimed that Microsoft has multiple Xbox announcements to make this coming Thursday, June 9th.
"Sources have said that Microsoft will be announcing several big announcements before Summer Game Fest on June 9th."
One of the bigger ones is a new "Xbox Game Demos" service that will apparently arrive within the next year and "will begin with a focus on helping independent game developers across the globe." Henderson speculates this is possibly being created to compete against the new version of PlayStation Plus and its implementation of time-limited game trials, and Microsoft will reportedly be compensating developers for taking part in the new service.
"The feature will be coming to Xbox Game Pass members within the next year..."
Another major announcement is set to be an extension to the partnership between Xbox and Samsung, which will see the two parties implementing the ability to stream Xbox Cloud Gaming titles directly via a Samsung Smart TV.
It's also mentioned that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be announced as expanding to more countries, and Henderson's sources expect several other smaller announcements will arrive on Thursday as well.
According to the report, the plan is to officially reveal all of this a few hours prior to the Summer Game Fest 2022 showcase on Thursday, so we'll keep a close eye out and let you know ASAP if this information is indeed the real deal.

Why would Microsoft reveal all of this before there event on the 12th? It doesn't make sense to do this before then or the 9th.
@Snake_V5 Get everyone excited by Game Pass availability on June 9th and then fill their show with all the games they can look forward to playing via Game Pass on the 12th...
Sources have said that Microsoft will be announcing several big announcements. So whens the official announcement of the announcement of the announcements
@Snake_V5 If we're glass half full, we can say because these are considered small announcements next to the game announcements on Sunday. Even if it's all third party there could be big game pass gets etc.
If we're glass half empty it just means Ms execs can't hold their liquor?
They're either terrible at marketing or they're confident they have a huge show.
@Would_you_kindly couldn't have said it better 😂
@Snake_V5 Maybe they just want to concentrate on games themselves for the event on the 12th.
@Snake_V5 Because Summer Game Fest is on the 9th, there'll be plenty of people who intend to watch Summer Game Fest but not the Xbox Showcase.
@Snake_V5 more eyes watch Summer Game Fest then Xbox shows.
I seriously hope the show is more about the games than Game Pass features… So many announced games that look exciting. May there be Xbox exclusives released this year!
I take it the show will be like last year with a focus only on games. It would be a bad idea to spend any amount of time at the show talking about tvs or mild new features. Those are boring and can be blog posts.
@mousieone Is that equal to or less than the number of Xboxs sold in Japan since 2000?
@Snake_V5 because none of these are game reveals, they all are Game Pass service updates and expansions. They likely want to keep the 12th 100% about games.
@NEStalgia Oh look it's the guy who ruins PlayStation for people. You big meanie 😡
It looks like they have a lot on their plate to share if they are going to use 3 separate dates for announcements...
@Snake_V5 I think you might have me confused with this guy:
One of us ruined PlayStation, and it isn't me...
come on release Cloud Gaming to the entire europe so I don't have to corry my XSX around
@NEStalgia are they making more money than ever?
@mousieone To be fair, Sony is making more money than ever by selling other company's loot boxes in their virtual retail establishment.... Jim didn't make PS better, he just made it more profitable.
Pizza Hut is making more money than ever. That does not negate the fact that Pizza Hut was ruined between 1988 and now.
The cause may or may not involve Reggie..............
@NEStalgia =p Pretty sure the PC ports are very popular.
@mousieone So is FIFA and Candy Crush......
@somnambulance I feel like I can say with FULL confidence that you will see a bunch of stuff drop into Gamepass and see very very little exclusives for this year. And when very very little exclusives this year I'm talking you'll see, Scorn. POSSIBLY Hellblade will drop this year but I doubt it. You'll get trailers for games that probably won't be releasing for the next 2,3,4 years and that's about it. But a TON of Gamepass announcements. Which I'm cool with personally..
@Qphlat27 But the big question, of course, is what will be on Gamepass, if not new exclusives? Hopefully there’s some surprises for new games and we don’t just get a bunch of three year old games slabbed onto Gamepass. I get it for people that stick to one ecosystem how old or previously exclusive games for other consoles going to Gamepass can be exciting, but, for me, I bought those games already. I’m someone that turns my Gamepass sub on and off month to month, depending on if I’ll save money to have it. I saved money going back to it this past month for PAC-Man, but if I continue subbing will be dependent on what we see Sunday.
@somnambulance I totally get that. Hopefully some good stuff. I guess we'll wait and see.
