Yesterday, Microsoft finally revealed the latest batch of Xbox Game Pass titles for this month, but we also got a tease for July 2022 in the form of Far Cry 5, which arrives on Xbox Game Pass next Thursday, July 1st.
That's not the only Xbox Game Pass confirmation for July 2022 so far, as five other games have also already been announced for the service next month, and they're all brand-new releases!
Let's take a look at the confirmed games coming to Xbox Game Pass in July 2022:
Date | Game | Platform |
July 1 | Far Cry 5 | Console, PC, Cloud |
July 5 | Last Call BBS | PC |
July 7 | Matchpoint: Tennis Championships | Console, TBD |
July 14 | Escape Academy | Console, TBD |
July 19 | As Dusk Falls | Console, PC, Cloud |
July 26 | Immortality | Console, PC, TBD |
If you're interested, Matchpoint: Tennis Championships actually now has a free demo on the Xbox Store as of a few days ago, so you can try it out right now ahead of its arrival on Xbox Game Pass on July 7th, 2022.
There's no word on what's leaving Xbox Game Pass in July 2022 as of yet - we'll have to wait until after the next batch of departures (June 30th) to find that out - but as always, we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything about this.

Immortality the fmv? Might give that one a try
Yeah I’ll give immortality a go. I enjoyed telling lies.
I don’t get all the buzz around far cry 5 now it’s hitting gamepass…when everybody was slagging it off week of release 🙅♂️🤷♂️
That's looking really good. Can't wait for Far Cry 5, Matchpoint and As Dusk Falls.
Nothing for me, but thats okay. Still plenty of games on game pass I haven't gotten to yet!
Will give Matchpoint demo a try (fingers crossed for Top Spin kinda feel) whilst also looking forward to As Dusk Falls and FC5 - although i really need to get through some of the earlier Far Cry titles
I know most developers do it now, but annoying how they add the paid DLC content to the update and force you to use valuable ssd space even if you don’t want to download and have the DLC.
No consideration for customers.
Ask dusk falls I'm going to play for sure. Maybe far cry 5 if I find the time somewhere. The rest doesn't interest me
I’m excited for a tennis game. Hopefully it’s pretty good.
This is the only way I would be willing to play Far Cry 5
I never liked FC5. It tried to allude to supernatural/horror elements which never really fit Ubisoft's Far Cry "you're in psycho dictator/nutjob land", almost leaning into the original CryTek FarCry games but without the mutant/zombie/things. And honestly Utah or whatever just isn't an interesting backdrop for the game vs the Himalayas, Caribbean jungles, or even Cuba-lite of 6, though I haven't tried 6 because 5 kind of turned me off.
Nothing for me on gp, but I just finished and enjoyed LIS true colours, so I certainly cant complain!
Ps plus just updated too, so now i have two services I can use and just hope they dont both have bad months at the same time! I never did play Mikes Morales (I thought the swinging might trigger a vertigo issue), so now I can try.
Could anyone confirm if the hotwheels dlc for fh5 is free for gp?
Id like to try that!
Edit, nvm. Just discovered the cheap bast**ds are tring to squeeze £40 out of me for a premium pack. Considering the complete dearth of 1st party content this year, and so very little last year, I think its out of order, but no doubt they'll be given a free pass for it. Shame, but theres no way im paying.
@Titntin Hah, yeah, DLCs are (almost) never part of GP, unless the title is a "definitive edition" or some such which includes the original DLCs. That's part of the monetization of GP, that if you like a game so much you want more of it, you purchase DLCs, which makes sense.
FWIW, Forza Horizon was always kind of an expensive series with all its DLCs even before Game Pass existed, and Game Pass actually does make it considerably cheaper to get the whole game than it used to be pre-Game Pass. Also, you can buy just the hot wheels pack for $20 (US), and it's 10% off with GP, so, it's $18 USD. The Premium pack is the full "season pass" that includes all the car DLC, the event DLC, and BOTH full DLC packs (Hot Wheels, and whatever the unannounced DLC 2 will be some time later. Every FH game gets 2 "big" DLCs. Usually one is the crazy one like Hot Wheels or Lego, and the other one is more of a challenge map like a mountain map with all snow based events, or the hurricane island pack with extreme weather based events etc. "Premium Pack" is for both big DLCs plus all the cars, and stuff. But each DLC can be purchased separately as well.
Also, FWIW, the FH3 Hot Wheels pack was huge and warranted the stand-alone purchase, as was FH4 Lego, so I assume FH5 Hot Wheels is as well. It's a total new map.
@NEStalgia Thanks for the info, I read the blog, but I appreciate your reply. 😁
Sorry, was just venting a little that weve seen almost nothing from ms 1st parties and now they want me to pay on top of my sub for one of the only bits of code they've developed all year!
I have hot wheels unleashed, which is excellent. FH5 didnt have any legs for me and I stopped playing it in about January at level 250ish, which is weird as I played fh4 for years. Im not paying to go back!
I guess its no problem, Im just looking for reasons to use xbox more as ive not used it so much this year and wife is asking the inevitable questions (why do we have this, you should sell it etc etc) Ive just got her to start true colours though, so im safe for a while!
@Titntin Think of it as a free game with an $18 Hot Wheels license?
Wow, I can't imagine playing a game like that for years. I just kind of binge for a few weeks, get my fill, then move on. Maybe jump back in for an hour or two here or there if it's super fun. FH5 I unlocked all the stuff, did most of the boards including some of the crazy hard ones (that one up high on the hotel balcony, yeesh...spent 2 days trying that.) That's it, I was good after that. I guess the service model will never work for me, I see most of the sights, then move on, with no intention of going back. Aside from a meaty expansion with all new stuff, of course. Obviously a big RPG that takes months just to get to the end is a different thing.
The trials and tribulations of being a multiple console owner... I at least get round robin play from mine. Did FH5 in Nov/Dec, then switched to R&C on PS5, then back to XSX for Arise, Scarlett Nexus, and a few random other games, then PS5 for Kena and Sponge Bob freebie because IDK. Then onto Switch for Kirby and TWEWY2. I had barely touched Switch for 2 years prior...started wondering why I had it. But now I'm all on Switch and ignoring XB and PS both, except for AI Som on GP, which I'm mostly streaming from xcloud.
