The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase is the event we're all looking forward to here at Pure Xbox, but before that takes place on Sunday, June 12th, we've got Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2022 show this coming Thursday.
In terms of what to expect, Keighley appeared on a Twitter Spaces audio session this past weekend (thanks to VGC for the transcription), where he advised that the focus will be on games that have already been announced:
“We’ve got a couple of new game announcements in the show and hopefully some surprises if everything holds. But it definitely is a show that’s primarily focused on stuff that is announced.”
Keighley namedropped a few things that we'll see at the show, including a gameplay demo of The Callisto Protocol, a first level playthrough of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, news and a reveal for Gotham Knights, footage of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, and much more.
Xbox exclusives will also be included, although the big hitters will be saved for the Xbox Games Showcase.
Keighley has, however, advised that people keep their expectations grounded ahead of the event:
“We’re doing some good stuff for you, but definitely manage your expectations in terms of the megaton shocks that you’re expecting. This is not The Game Awards. We’ve got lots of good stuff to show you but buyer beware of some of the crazy rumors I’m seeing out there in terms of things people expect to get announced.”
The 2022 Summer Game Fest event takes place on Thursday, June 9th at at 11am PT / 2pm EST / 7pm BST, and it's expected to last somewhere around one and a half hours to two hours. You'll be able to catch all the action here with us at Pure Xbox (we'll open up the chatroom too), and we'll be covering all big announcements as well!

Ad revenue for Geoff...now without pesky game revels lol.
I usually watch his shows an hour after they have started, so that I can skip through all the fluff and guff, and get to the good bits...
Geoff Keighley reveals what to expect from SGF. Geoff says to expect Geoff. Geoff says there's a chance of Geoff, then Geoff likely, followed by increasing Geoff and a chance for Geoff. Friday should be mostly Geoff, with a slight chance Geoff in the afternoon, becoming Geoff in the evening. Expect the most Geoff of the season Friday night turning to light Geoff by Saturday morning, leading to a mostly Geoff-free afternoon as Geoff departs the area.
That’s what you call expectation management 😂
This is why we need E3. The guy doesn't even understand the event. So he's hosting a big "summer games fest" to replace E3, the original home of big reveals and announcements. Then declares not to expect much from it, it's just a big commercial, because "this isn't The Game Awards." Wait, so the summer showcase is just a big ad, while the "awards show" in winter is where you should expect big reveals?! So....should we expect awards at the summer event since the "awards" show is for reveals?
@SplooshDmg Nah, that's obviously hinted at being at The Game Awards. I expected a delay. And I won't be surprised if it's a PS exclusive.
Thank god Xbox didn't forget it'sfans love the E3 style blowout presentations.
Elden Ring saved Key-Lee's show last year imo.
Hope he has at least one big banger again this year.
