It feels like it's gone under the radar a bit recently, but the long-awaited DLC for Cuphead has arrived today in the form of Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, and the best bit is that it's only £6.79 / $7.99 to buy!

The reviews have been going out today as well, so we've gathered some of the impressions we've found from across the web, and it's safe to say it's getting an amazing reception so far! Here are some highlights:

IGN (9/10)

"Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is the perfect send off for a game that embodies the phrase “one of a kind.” Experienced players will likely muscle their way through the six bosses and optional King of Games minibosses in just a handful of hours, but the quality of those hours far outweighs their quantity."

GameSpot (9/10)

"Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is worth the long wait. Ms. Chalice gives players a brand-new way to approach each boss, and each of the new boss fights is an imaginative triumph, from both a visual and gameplay perspective. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course adds more than a cherry on top; it changes the recipe to create a game that's more scrumptious than before."

"After all these years there still isn’t anything quite like Cuphead. I wish that we got more than a few hours’ worth of stuff, but the nature of The Delicious Last Course augmenting the original game means that it’ll impact every timeless future playthrough. If you hated the game before, the DLC won’t do much to change your mind. If you loved it, you should probably pick it up immediately."

"The Delicious Last Course sends our jolly beverage containers off on a high note. It offers an entertaining final exam of your skills while also freshening up the original adventure by giving players a cool new character to enjoy. It’s more Cuphead at the end of the day, but I had a great time revisiting Studio MDHR’s wonderful animated universe, testing my mettle against its villains, and feeling fist-pumping triumph all over again."

Hardcore fans will adore the addition of new bosses, a new playable character, and a surprising amount of content that manages to delight despite its relative familiarity. I’ll admit that returning to Cuphead after so long meant I had to get my ass kicked a few times before finding my groove again, but once everything clicked the magic returned, and I couldn’t stop until all the bosses had been dealt with."

The Metacritic scores are still being calculated at the time of writing, but based on these early reviews, it looks like Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is going to be pushing the 90s in terms of a rating, which is a fantastic result!
