The Xbox Insider program is adding an interesting new Party Chat feature for members of its Alpha Skip-Ahead ring today, as noise suppression is being included "to help produce cleaner audio in your Party Chat session."
In theory, this should mean that background noise will be better isolated from your chat when you're in a Party (although obviously this is also based on the headphones you're using), and it will be enabled by default in the future:
"We’ve enabled a new feature which will process your microphone input through a noise suppression step to help produce cleaner audio in your Party Chat session. The setting is enabled by default but can be toggled from the dropdown options menu."
If you're part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, you'll be able to begin testing this feature today, and we presume it'll be rolling out to the Alpha, Beta and other Xbox Insider rings in the relatively near future.
In terms of a public rollout, we could be looking at anything from a couple of weeks to a few months, but it shouldn't be too far away as long as everything goes smoothly with it. Let's hope it ends up making a noticeable difference!
Happy with this new Party Chat feature? Had a chance to try it out yet? Let us know down below.

Curious see how this is. Could finally be the end of hearing garbage in background.
Yep. Talking to you baby and children running thru the house people.
@GuyinPA75 I doubt it’ll be help against the people who play online games but have to have their music on in the background.
Fortunately this is for party chat and I’m thinking more of randos.
@ParsnipHero Oh they're annoying too. But if Ricky Martin or Brittany spears or skinny puppy helps them score couple of goals to win the game well... guess I'm ok then.
I like hearing wives nag and complain in the background, it's a fun thing to talk about.
This could be good to reduce annoying fan noises, etc in party chats.
This sounds great! Now people can tell me to shut up because of me and not my family in the background.
@Fishticon LOL. The Real Wives (and Husbands) of Xbox will be releasing in 2023 on Paramount+. Stranger things have happened.
