Phil Spencer is probably hard at work gearing up for what Xbox will show at next month's showcase, but that's not stopping him planning exactly where he'll be when the show is broadcast. In a Twitter reply, the Xbox boss has confirmed that he'll be tuning in to the showcase live at Xbox FanFest.
Phil will be in attendance at the LA event, which runs on the same day as the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. It must be pretty weird watching your own showcase live, but we're sure Phil's used to watching himself back at this point.
As the name suggests, fans will also be in attendance although it's not a broadly open event. A few hundred fans have been invited to attend across four major cities worldwide: LA, Madrid, Toronto, and Melbourne. Sadly, the invite stage has passed and tickets are no longer available. However, if you're one of the lucky ones attending in LA, you might spot Phil on your travels!!
If you're craving that live showcase experience, you'll probably have a better chance with the Summer Game Fest. Although the specific theatres haven't been revealed yet, host Geoff Keighley has said to expect that show to crop up at some IMAX cinemas in the UK.
Would you like to see FanFest expand to allow more folks in? Let us know in the comments!

He's going to PERSONALLY assure everyone that they're TOTALLY launching a bunch of games next year, totally for sure they really mean it this time they're super cereal, no for realz pinkie swear, and they have the CG trailers to prove it!
(i'm mostly kidding, relax.)
Phil's absence would give weight to some of the concerns that have been going around. I love what Phil has done for Xbox and I hope we can put the pedal down once more after these delays. I'm not too worried about the future, I see these delays as a speed bump.
