The 'digital age' strikes again, as a couple more Xbox games appear to have been delisted from the online storefront. GVG's Jon Cartwright spotted that neither SoulCalibur, or its sequel SoulCalibur II, are available anymore directly from Xbox, despite both being backwards compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
We also did a little digging, to find forum posts discussing this matter a few months ago, along with a posted on Delisted Games. It seems Bandai Namco stealth removed these two games from the Xbox Store earlier this year, or maybe even before that, and now more folks are beginning to notice.
This is a bit of a bummer to be honest, and we hope the publisher comes out to explain why they're unavailable, or even relists them for players to enjoy. However, there is a workaround here in the UK for one of the two games at least.
If you were planning on picking these up sometime, SoulCalibur 2 is available to purchase, digitally, from GAME. The retailer is selling codes at £15.99 a pop, and while we can't guarantee these codes will work for sure on Xbox when redeemed, this is apparently how Jon in the tweet above eventually managed to get the game to install.

As for direct purchases, we're out of luck for now. We'll be keeping an eye out to see if these return to the store in the coming weeks and months.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I just saw this game in the store yesterday, and was like "when it gets in a sale I will surely buy it", Bandai you can't do it, I just sold my Nintendo Gamecube there isn't literally any other way a can play this masterpiece again 😭😭😭😭😭😭
*****. I was wanting to play Soul Calibur II as well lately. Does the original Xbox Disc work at all on a Series X?
I bought a copy from Amazon UK and have installed the game (may not work for folk outside the UK): https://www.amazon.co.uk/SOULCALIBUR-II-HD-Xbox-360/dp/B01IQAMTZO
All pre printed/distributed codes will work. Always has.

@Tasuki Unfortunately it isn’t one of the 60 backwards compatible Xbox games.

@SoulChimera Well that sucks. Guess I need to find a GameCube or Original Xbox now if I want to play the game.
I noticed 1 was delisted awhile ago but 2 has been up until now. That sucks.
Codes for soul calibur 1 can't be redeemed, no workarounds because namco decided to make them unredeemable. But the codes are still on sale on amazon. Really a shame for a software house like them
Buying the download code from Game definitely works - I did it about three days ago! I hope this helps.
Anyone who would be kind to sell me a digital code, no matter how many times I tried to buy it from Dell, all my orders got cancelled, support told me that it must be an issue with the product itself, and as much as I tried I was unable to buy it from game.co.uk or amazon.co.uk 😓
@georgio777 I just bought a code from Dell no problem at all. They emailed the code within hours, I used it and was able to install the game no problem.
