Back in February, Activision Blizzard and co. began to open up about upcoming Call of Duty plans. Since then, we've learnt a tiny bit more about 2022's premium release, Modern Warfare II, but not too much about the free-to-play sequel to Warzone.
Some new rumours are now doing the rounds about a supposed 'Warzone 2', and it's looking like the sequel may go in a different, but ultimately familiar direction. YouTuber NerosCinema, backed up by prominent leaker Tom Henderson, discussed some Warzone 2 info, suggesting the game will contain more traditional battle royale elements, just like the series' first genre outing in Black Ops 4's Blackout.
Those elements include a more traditional inventory system, less focus on player loadouts, and even a map that closely resembles Treyarch's Blackout arena. That last point is once again followed up by Henderson.
As the YouTuber says, it's best to take all of this with more than a pinch of salt as the information is mere rumour at this point. When Activision first detailed a Warzone sequel, the company said to "expect a massive evolution of Battle Royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode".

I’m ok with that. Blackout was arguably a lot more fun than Warzone, even if Warzone is technically a better game.
