We've got a date! EA has confirmed today via a press release that the highly-anticipated Dead Space remake will be launching on January 27th, 2023, and it'll be a next-gen only release on consoles, meaning no Xbox One version.
The press release confirms that the game is "being rebuilt from the ground up leveraging the Frostbite game engine," and its visuals "have been carefully reimagined to evoke a new level of immersion and quality."
Here's what the game's senior producer had to say about the announcement:
“Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves. It’s been equally exciting to see players' reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us."
“We’re making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and we’re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year. We can’t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we've elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation.”
The Dead Space team also released a series of development videos today on the game's YouTube channel showcasing the behind-the-scenes process of creating immersive environments, amplifying visual effects, elevating character models and refining lighting effects. You can check them all out below, or you can head over to YouTube and watch the much longer and more in-depth 90 minute livestream that the team hosted earlier today.

I'm buying it day 1. Such an amazing top of the cream game.
Holy moley, why don't developers do more showcases like this? This shows they're confident in their product and in turn having me interested and confident that I will no doubt purchase this.
Great game it was the first time i played it. I would rather they spent the time making a new dead space game
however as we all know with EA play and gamepass it will be on there with in a year
With all these recent delay's, I think it unwise to reveal a date. I can see things going pear shaped again.
Sweet. I always like it when games release a bit after the holiday rush. Looking forward to seeing more of this game, Dead Space has always been good fun.
Really like these developer deep dives, especially looking through the tools they use and have created.
It's clear a lot of love is going into this, which bodes well.
Definitely a game I'm very interested in! I loved Dead Space 1 & 2, some of my favourite games of the 360 era. Its looking great and I'm interested to see what extra content it has...
The new visuals look to increase the Atmosphere and tension too. Looking forward to it...
