Head of Xbox and Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter to share his support for former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, who is currently promoting his new book about his life and career.
The book is called "Disrupting The Game", and is described as "the ultimate gameplan for anyone looking to beat the odds and achieve success." It launches May 3rd, and Spencer has publicly shared his support for its release:
This isn't the first time Phil and Reggie have been seen interacting in recent years, as Spencer actually appeared on the Nintendo veteran's podcast a couple of years ago, and Reggie even hosted an Xbox event last year.
If you're interested in checking out the book, we've included a couple of Amazon pre-order links below, along with some more details about what you can expect from it. It looks like a good read, even if you're not a Nintendo fan!
Learn from Reggie how to leverage disruptive thinking to pinpoint the life choices that will make you truly happy, conquer negative perceptions from those who underestimate or outright dismiss you, and master the grit, perseverance, and resilience it takes to dominate in the business world and to reach your professional dreams.

I hope I have the opportunity to read the book, however I do not feel sympathy for Reggie.
I love Reggie.
@Pigrotto Why would you feel sympathy for him?
@Spaceman-Spiff Maybe because my little brain associates Reggie with Wii and WiiU Nintendo era; two consoles I didn't love, sorry.
Said that I'm confident he did much and well to sell those 2 products.
Reggie is a cool guy, he saved Nintendo from the Wii U mistake. He seems to be enjoying his retirement.
@Pigrotto I'm sure Reggie will be ok without your personal sympathies.
Get your bodies ready!
Reggie was the Shrek/Hamburglar mish-mash we didn't know we needed. Why there was never a Reggie doll is beyond me.
@Pigrotto I guess @Spaceman-Spiff's point is there's no need to feel sympathy for him. usually you feel sympathy when someone's sick or in a bad situation, he just published a book
@demian oh I see... sorry: English is not my first language. My bad.
@Pigrotto Then problem with Reggie is that he treated Nintendo like it was a joke he was more interested in making memes like the whole my body is ready b.s. then making Nintendo a contender with MS and Sony. The result was alot ofnthird partied not wanting to work with them and then the whole gamers want to waggle ***** to play games.
If.he would have treated the position he was given more respect instead of as a joke Nintendo would be in a better place with gamers today.
@Tasuki I do agree with you, but I didn't want to sound too harsh.
I believe Reggie is a corporate/marketing guy, not a gamer or interesting in gaming.
I know it sounds naive, but it is only my opinion.
Finally every time i read Geoff Keighley my eyes start to roll.
@Tasuki Nintendo going in the waggle direction had nothing to do with Reggie. He was a marketing and relationships guy for the NA market. The waggle decisions came from Japan based on Nintendo's reading of Japan's market, because Nintendo bases everything on the Japan market (or at least did back then.) The West is just invited along for the ride, and Reggie was given what he was given to work with which was a very Japanese product based on late-00's Japanese shoppers.
And it worked massively from a sales perspective, worldwide before proving to be a short-term strategy with no legs, even in Japan...though they're still rolling in the money from the one hit wonder, so I'm not sure who's laughing, really.
"Gamers" moved on from Nintendo when the PSX came out. Each Nintendo home console declined in sales, generation after generation which is why they pretty much bailed from the market with the Wii. Even Switch is really the latest Nintendo handheld with a TV-out. There's no real Nintendo home console after Wii/U fizzled.
I think that era had the nintendo execs making Nintendo "fun." I miss that really. In the Switch era it's just a product to sell units, and Doug Bowser and Shintaro Furukawa are the same flavor of spreadsheet muncher Jim Ryan is.
@Pigrotto Reggie's a "casual gamer" brought in by his kids, and I think pretty genuine in that regard. I don't think he's sitting there grinding Destiny 2, Phil-style, or Demon's Souls' Yoshida-style, but I think he can run circles around Jim Ryan or Shintaro Furukawa in basically any game if handed a controller. I'm also certain Iwata would hand him his rear end on a platter in any game.
@Tasuki no worries, we are int he same boat on this 😊
Who can hate Reggie and his new nintendo 3ds?
