Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt is an upcoming battle royale spin-off from the Vampire series, and it looks as if it's going to deliver a pretty interesting take on the genre. Sadly, the free-to-play game is skipping Xbox at launch and just opting for a PC and PS5 release, but the developer has good reason for that.
Basically, it all comes down to dev resources. The studio wants to ensure it has enough time to work on Bloodhunt without sacrificing quality, and that means limiting the number of platforms at launch.
"Our philosophy is that we would rather be on fewer platforms at a higher quality than risk spreading ourselves too thin."
However, the team did stress that it has "nothing to hide" regarding other platforms, and that talk of an Xbox Series X|S port hasn't begun simply because the team is "squarely focused on PC and PS5 at this point."
As for the future? Well, that's up in the air at the moment. It genuinely seems like Sharkmob is just focused on the initial release, and we understand why. Launching a multiplayer game in this day and age, especially a battle royale, isn't easy and they have some stiff competition. In fact, how successful that launch is could determine whether we ever see this one on Xbox Series X|S in the future.
What do you make of the Bloodhunt trailer? Hoping it comes over to Xbox Series X|S soon? Let us know in the comments!

Same thing happened with games like hunt showdown and black desert online when they came to xbox first, so I'd wager this game is 100% coming to xbox within the next 12 months, also I think this game will flop on playstation/pc unless its either free to play, or included via playstation plus
@UltimateOtaku91 It is free-to-play! Hopefully we see it on Xbox soon
@UltimateOtaku91 and the Original Hellblade too as that was released first on PC and PS4. That was down to the fact that the 'small' team working on it was being funded by the rest of Ninja Theory being contracted out to work on others projects.
At some point, if the money isn't their to develop for 'every' platform possible simultaneously, they have to choose which they think may well yield the best results and with PS having a 'larger' user base (certainly when the decisions like this were made), it likely played a factor in that decision.
According to ppl on push square Sony has paid for 18 months console exclusive
Not much to worry about, considering this game is very likely to be a flop. I mean, let's be honest about it.
Yay, another battle royale.
@uptownsoul Crossfire X is one of the worst games I've ever played, and I'm the kind of person who loves spawn bases (to camp and be camped).
This one is actually pretty fun. It's a basic battle royale game at its core, but the powers/classes, parkour, setting, and NPC interactions (draining civilians for buffs, taking down armored patrols for loot) are unique enough that I sunk a ton of time into it on PC. It was BADLY optimized and the controller controls were garbage, tho, so having the PS version as their testing grounds might not be so bad.
There's always GeForce now, if the add it on there... Unless Sony pulls another God of War.
