It's finally almost here! After five years of development and many, many delays, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga drops on Xbox this Tuesday, April 5th. We've been going hands-on with the full game here at Pure Xbox for the past few days, as have many other critics, and those reviews have been going live at various outlets this afternoon.
Below, you'll find a selection of reviews from across the web, as well as our own.
VGC - 5/5
"It feels like TT knows that this is very likely its last chance to do this series justice, and it's not only done that, it's created what is the very best Lego game, and frankly, one of the best Star Wars games that has ever been made."
ShackNews - 9/10
"LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the definitive LEGO Star Wars experience. Although the game can feel a bit cluttered with its overload of collectibles and shiny things to look at, it’s an impressive collection of the full saga. With a staggering amount of characters to play as and worlds to explore, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga puts a beautiful bow on LEGO’s premier franchise."
Hardcore Gamer - 4.5/5
"LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a triumphant reinvention of the LEGO series, successfully adapting the entirety of the mainline Star Wars films, building out a galaxy filled with activities to pursue and reinventing gameplay mechanics for a new generation."
Pure Xbox - 8/10
"We've still got a few nitpicks, and we also wish it included online co-op support, but there's no denying that it's a stunningly beautiful and brilliantly ambitious take on the world of Star Wars complete with endlessly enjoyable gameplay and enough side-content to keep you busy for many, many hours to come. We've been waiting so long for this game to arrive, and we're pleased to report the Force is definitely strong with this one."
IGN - 8/10
"LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga provides some rollicking reimaginings of Star Wars’ most iconic moments and seats them inside a series of interplanetary playgrounds that are dense with discovery and entertaining diversions."
Push Square - 8/10
"LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a meaningful step forward, smartly evolving the gameplay without losing that fun-loving core. Kids will love the slapstick humour and colourful sights and sounds, grown-ups will appreciate all the elbow-in-ribs jokes, and both will enjoy just how much there is to do. Despite some very minor issues, it's gram for gram the best LEGO game in a long time, and it's up there with the top Star Wars games to boot."
Destructoid - 7.5/10
"Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn’t reinvent the wheel and the subject matter is limited because the narrative mostly adheres to the film trilogies (when can we get a Rebels LEGO game?), but it’s a fun way to relive them as an adult and show them to kids at the same time."
As you can see, the reviews are very positive for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, with the game currently boasting an 83 rating for Xbox Series X on Metacritic and an 86 rating for PlayStation 5 based on around 20 reviews each.

I'm really looking forward to this game but lack of online co-op seems like a huge missed opportunity. My only other small gripe is no Omega in the Bad Batch DLC characters. Can't wait to play it.
Awesome! Always appreciate a high quality kids game and these scores point to that. It’s especially impressive for a Movie-Video game tie in - although Star Wars has always been an exception to this, churning out good games for years.
I can’t wait to play with my little ones!
The purexbox link takes you to a review of a completely different game lol.
I’m torn on this. It looks really good, and there seems to be a lot of content for your money. However, I’ve always found the Lego games quite shallow in terms of gameplay, probably because I’m not the target demographic.
@NotoriousWhiz Hmm, strange. Thanks for pointing out!
