We've got an official release window for Lords of the Fallen 2, the follow-up to the 2014 action-RPG, as developer CI Games has confirmed in a management report that the title is currently targeting a 2023 launch on Xbox Series X|S.
In the report, it mentions that Lords of the Fallen 2 is "planned to be released in 2023 as a full-price game for the new generation of consoles and PC," and the game is the developer's "most ambitious soulslike project to date."
"This franchise has strong market recognition in the Fantasy RPG genre. With a major focus on creating an immersive world, combined with genre-leading combat, our objective is to ensure Lords of the Fallen 2 fulfils its vision as CI Games’ most ambitious soulslike project to date."
The report goes on to talk about some of the upgrades that we'll see in Lords of the Fallen 2, such as "a new dark-fantasy aesthetic in keeping with the prevailing action-RPG tone, alongside a fully revised, more challenging combat system," and mentions that it's "vitally important that we re-engage this audience with the upcoming entry."
The first Lords of the Fallen was undoubtedly a hit, securing a player base of over 10 million people according to CI Games, and it'll be interesting to see how the sequel builds on those foundations when it arrives next year.

I really enjoyed the first one - been a while!
Fell off the first one pretty hard. Began well but it just seemed so uninspired compared to others in the genre and failed to hold my attention. Hope this is an improvement.
I did not enjoy the first one. Souls like games I would recommend are Remnant: From the Ashes, The surge 2, and Ashen.
Yeah, I didn’t enjoy the first game, either. I hope the sequel will be better.
Two words: difficulty options.
They may feel free to make this game as difficult as they can, but they have the chance to scoop up the rather large number of people who find these games too difficult and complained about Elden Ring (not me, I'm loving it), but there's an opportunity for them to establish themselves big time here.
