We've found ourselves talking about the AEW console game again! A new report from Fightful Select has indicated today that the game is targeting a surprise September 2022 release date, although that's a "tentative" window for now.
That means we could theoretically be playing it in just five months' time if all goes to plan, which seems much sooner than expected — we anticipated it might not arrive until 2023 or even 2024, but hopefully that won't be the case!
Fightful also revealed some more details about the game last month, including that it'll feature a Story Mode with input from the wrestlers themselves, and the music for the mode was reportedly finished back in early March.
The AEW game is being developed by Yukes, best known for the old WWE SmackDown Vs. Raw series, with WWF No Mercy director Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita also attached to the project. Let's hope that September date comes to fruition!
