The Xbox brand is growing in popularity within Japan thanks to services like Game Pass and Cloud Gaming, and locally developed games jumping on board.
To help increase awareness, Xbox has now launched its news service 'Xbox Wire' in the country. This will allow the Xbox team to deliver "fully localized news" (about all things Xbox) - directly to fans within this location.
It also happens to mark the 20th year anniversary of Xbox's original launch within Japan. Xbox sees this announcement as a way of "reinforcing" its commitment to the Japanese market:
"As we continue our journey, we are excited to bring the joy and community of gaming to so many more players in Japan and help them keep up to date with all the content and experiences available on console, PC as well as cloud. We are thrilled to offer our fans consistent updates through Xbox Wire and are reinforcing our commitment to Japanese gamers by bringing you the most important Xbox news, when you need it and in your own language.
"The launch of the Xbox Wire Japan means Japanese fans can receive up to date, relevant and fully localized news as and when they need it. Our hope is this launch will bring Japanese players even closer to the Xbox brand and strengthens our commitment to the Asia region."

Ok? Japanese games like Final Fantasy 7 remake and 16 skipping Xbox sure helps with that relationship
Awesome. Hopefully, we get to see more "Japanime" type games on Xbox in the following years.
@JudaiMasters blame sony and SE. they bought a years worth of exclusive rights and before that expired, they bought another year of that. why SE allowed that is beyond me.
16 is another case of bought exclusive rights.
@Nalverus I know. A blog post won't help though. They need to get japanese games on the platform.
I might be wrong but I have a hunch that FromSoftware will be the next one in line making deals with Sony to exclude Xbox. Elden Ring might be the last FromSoft game on Xbox for all we know.
Bring Final Fantasy VII and XVI to xbox. If Sony still wants to play dirty then threaten them with no CoD
@Ashadelo or even better pay for a exclusive new FF game ,that will sell like hot cakes no matter what country they sell it
Promising development. More JP titles please MS
@Nalverus relationship and sales number of FF XV is probably why
@JudaiMasters and Babylon's Fall 😭
Well between this and other news, I wonder if we will see Platinum officially join Xbox Studio's, maybe even #SaveScalebound too...
I'm glad to see the Xbox growing in Japan. At this rate, I'd like to see games like State of Decay 2 and Psychonauts translated into Japanese.
In Japan, there is a problem that for some reason Square Enix's Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts were not included in the Game Pass. (Interestingly, PS Now has them.)
It’s amazing when you think Japan is just now getting their own blog portal. It’s late to the party. Now here’s hoping they bring over stuff like design labs etc..
@Rmg0731 @Nalverus Tomb Raider exclusivity had everything to do with money. Look at Avengers, and that’s the kind of game you don’t want exclusives pieces. It’s all about money with SE… sadly.
@xboxjapanfan I think that has to do with Sony. MS doubled up on DQ and those are also on cloud. Which even in the West, FF games aren’t on cloud.
