The Xbox team at Microsoft have announced that they're joining Epic Games in support of the people of Ukraine by contributing net proceeds for Fortnite during the period between March 20th and April 3rd, 2022.
This follows a message from Fortnite developer Epic Games over the weekend that the company would be "committing all its Fortnite proceeds [during those two weeks] to humanitarian relief for people affected by the war in Ukraine."
In response, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer stated that it was "great to see [the] gaming community come together," and pointed out that employee donations and matching contributions at Microsoft are also focused on providing aid to Ukrainian families right now.
Alongside this, the Microsoft Rewards program is allowing you to donate your points to UNICEF's lifesaving emergency response efforts in Ukraine, and through April 30th, every point donated to UNICEF will be matched by Microsoft.
Here's what Phil Spencer had to say in full:
"Great to see gaming community come together. In addition to joining with Fortnite and our Microsoft Rewards for UNICEF, our employee donations and matching contributions are focused on providing aid to Ukrainian families."
