The Paramount+ live-action series Halo made its debut earlier this week, and it seems the first episode launch has been a huge success for the streaming service.
According to Paramount (via Deadline), Halo is now the service's "most-watched" series premiere ever (globally) in its first 24 hours of release. The previous record-holder was the Yellowstone prequel 1883, last December.
No exact viewership figures have been provided, but '1883' reportedly had 4.9 million watchers. Nielsen's streaming rankings for this week should provide a better idea of how Halo has performed when they are released.
The Halo Paramount+ series has already confirmed a second season is on the way. And if you haven't already taken a look at the first season of Halo, you can get 30 free days of Paramount+ in certain regions with a Game Pass subscription.
Have you seen the first episode of the Halo live-action yet? What did you think? Tell us down below.

The real test is going to be how many people continue watching it. I'm sure tons of people just wanted to see the first episode because it's Halo, but that first episode got a very divisive reaction apparently.
Just you wait until the Knuckles series goes ahead and beats this.
Would have been more if the app was available in more countries.
Nothing for the UK until the summer.
The drop off for episode 2 is going to be huge. This show desperately wants to be the mandalorian, it have crap CGI, and in one case no CGI on a cardboard prop, dialogue that made no sense and they took master chief helmet off, which was a big mistake. 1 episode and done for me.
I actually see it as the complete opposite to the Mandalorian. They showed the face right away to get it over with (albeit in a way that doesn’t make much sense), and it seems they’ll follow a greater storyline instead of A “villain of the week” format
this series is bad and I call it a $grab
shame
@blinx01 couldn't agree more we've been left in the dark on this one
The first episode was surprisingly ok. The sound effects and feel was all very Halo.
It certainly wasn't a TV masterpiece but it was good enough that I'll be watching a few more episodes at least. For those on the fence give it a go, it's not a stinker.
@Buckster666 wow that's sounds like a low budget show to me, you'd think they would go all out with a big budget show to grab people's attention to want to play the games. Hopefully the last of us show doesn't make the same mistake and the uncharted film shows that spending a bigger budget is worth it. Even the witcher series pulled it off.
@Casco The first season of Mandalorian had major fetch-quest vibes all around which was a weakness. The second season got much better.
@UltimateOtaku91 The show apparently has a 10 million per episode budget which is not small. It looks about as good as Witcher, But it still doesn't look like that MCU movie you saw in the theater ofc. It looks fine for a TV show but doesn't go in there expecting the same level of craft you see in Avengers and Avatars of Hollywood.
@Casco He did it so the girl would trust him as she obviously wanted to kill him before he did that and actually made himself vulnerable. She had already brought up him removing the helmet before things went sideways.
@blinx01 gotta use a vpn 😉
@blinx01 I watched it on my fire TV stick through an unofficial app
I've not seen it yet, but I've caught some of it on YouTube, and between the bad CGI and other stuff I don't want to mention for spoiler reasons, I'm won't go out of my way to watch it.
I thought the 1st episode was okay. Some shoddy effects and questionable acting here and there but I'm actually pretty intrigued to see where the story is going. Also very few pilot episodes ever get everything right. I usually give shows at least five episodes before I start to consider if I'll keep watching or not so bring on episode 2!
