Remember Godfall? The "loot-powered action adventure" from Gearbox Publishing launched exclusively on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Windows PC back in November of 2020, and now it's finally coming to Xbox this April.
The version of Xbox will be the "Ultimate Edition", which includes the core Godfall experience, various "game-changing updates", the Fire & Darkness expansion, and the previously exclusive Ascended Edition and pre-order bonuses.
Godfall released to very lukewarm reviews back in 2020, achieving a Metacritic score of 61%, and our sister site Push Square gave it an "Average" 5/10 score as part of their verdict. That was a couple of years ago, of course, and the game has evolved since then, with the Ultimate Edition being clearly the most complete version of it so far.
Plus the "Exalted Update" arriving on the same day as release (April 7th) is the game's largest update so far, featuring overhauled combat, an enhanced campaign, an all-new Spirit Realms and much more, so it sounds much improved.
Godfall: Ultimate Edition will be available for $39.99 on Xbox, with a special $29.99 price at launch.
"Godfall: Ultimate Edition is the best and most complete way to enjoy Godfall. Experience every update and improvement since launch assembled in one Ultimate package. Godfall: Ultimate Edition includes the base game, Fire & Darkness Expansion, and the Ascended and Pre-order Cosmetic Packs for your journey."

I think I'll give it a chance if it comes to Game Pass.
anyone else noticing that a good number of these games that Sony is paying extra as timed exclusives haven't been that good?
If it comes to Game Pass I'll probably try it.
@armondo36 Forspoken and KOTOR might be two more. Maybe that means Starfield will be good since they rejected being timed haha.
FF16 might be the exception.
Deathloop was pretty good for me.
I hope they’ll put it on Game Pass. From all the negative publicity this game has received I don’t feel comfortable dropping like $70 on it… Although the promised enhancements like VRR and Dolby Vision support sounds pretty neat!
Godfall isnt a bad game. I quite enjoyed it as it's pretty much a hack and slash with loot mechanics and some other features. Fair enough it didnt set the world alight but at 30 it's not bad
@armondo36 a few. There are some that have though too
Don't know why but I hate that artwork above. Just summat about the way they're posed like 'Look at me I'm all edgy and 5h*t'.
This is an perfect Gamepass game. Will definitely play this one Gamepass.
As a former PS5 owner, I can say with full confidence that Godfall is aggressively derivative.
The only "timed exclusive" I look forward to revisiting is Deathloop and even that game wasn't as groundbreaking as everyone says.
@armondo36 what I’ve noticed is that a number of the exclusives whether that be timed or games like Destruction All Stars, from Sony are GAAS and those aren’t usually good. I’m not claiming Sony is chasing that although they did but Bungie for that reason, so maybe I dunno.
The games that aren’t GAAS seems to be okay like Kena, Sifu, etc
This is dead on arrival if it doesn't come to gamepass, though to be honest any GAAS game that comes to xbox is not going to get high numbers unless it comes to gamepass
Give me crossplay and I'll pick it up.
Ah yes - the PS5 launch game that was touted as a 'Showcase' for next gen hardware and a true next-gen game built for PS5 that 'flopped' so they released a PS4 version, and also just the 'end game' portion too was given away recently on PS+
I don't know that it did enough for me to even want to try it 'free' if it comes to Game Pass. I have numerous other games that I want to spend my limited game time playing a LOT more than this. Just being available on Game Pass doesn't mean that it's done 'enough' to make me want to 'try it' for free...
They would be wiser to launch on Game Pass with how poorly it was received.
It was touted as being amazing and ended up being......pants.
isnt this game like bad or something?
Looks interesting but when that comes out I will be busy with Tiny Tina's.
i buyed full price this game on ps4 if their armors are unique and cool loot is fun but nothing crazy all the rest is kind of boring you get way too late coop in that game you have to reach lv 50 i will play it on gamepass in the future but its a really average and repetitive game.
I'll pass, heard this game was bad.
I get why this game has a bad rep based on its very average campaign but if you're into hack/slash games there's a very good combat system in there with some excellent build variety. Had a lot of fun with it.
The only thing I find interesting here is the 18 month exclusivity window, I do wonder how many other Triple A (or Triple A pretenders) PS money hatted for the same exact window.
@UltimateOtaku91 most GAAS fail if they are not free out of the gate, period.
It takes a lot of name power (like Final Fantasy) for a service game to be able to charge an up-front fee AND be somewhat successful. Even then the game needs to be fantastic. No name recognition was going to save the Avengers, and it does not seem being added to GP did much for its numbers beyond the first few weeks.
This is really not something to be happy about. Even after the 26 patches, this game is absolutely abysmal. The upside is as its micro transaction riddled and live service crap, if your dog eats your modem you can't play it.
Has anyone here actually played godfall?
I really liked it. When it released it was full of bugs and the story is truly rubbish. The hubworld equally embarrassing.
But there is a great game hidden underneath if you play it on normal or hard. The graphics on PS5 were gorgeous and I really love the art style. The fighting is imo the best 3d fighting mechanics outside of Soul Calibur. Just a joy to use. It's fully patched these days. I will replay if it come to GP.
I don't recall microtransactions as others are mentioning above, although that could have been added. Everything used to be in game unlockable.
I will buy it; I'm aware is not a stellar game, still I like this kind of games.
