It might not be the release window that Telltale Games fans were hoping for, but we've got one all the same — The Wolf Among Us 2 will officially be launching for Xbox One, Series X and Series S at some point in 2023.

Today's announcement was accompanied by the game's first trailer, giving us a taste of what to expect from the highly-anticipated sequel. According to Telltale Games, the footage was "taken straight from inside the new game engine".

Details are very minimal right now, with the company stating "we’ve got a long road ahead of us before the game is ready to launch in 2023, but we plan to keep at it and take the time needed to make this game the right way."

"Thanks to all the believers and fans giving us this opportunity to bring back and work on new narrative games – a genre we truly love."
