Rainbow Six Extraction made its debut across multiple platforms last week. This included a release on Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service, and it seems to be paying off.
According to the game's official Twitter account, the title has already surpassed three million players within its first week. Ubisoft is set to expand on this - with a special Buddy Pass launch. This will allow players to invite up to two friends (across any platform) to play for free with them.
Here's what we had to say about Rainbow Six Extraction in the Pure Xbox review we published earlier this week:
"Rainbow Six Extraction, while it lasts, is a super solid time, a delightfully warped addition to the Rainbow Six stable of games that is a total blast when played with the right people. It also sweetens the deal that it's available via Game Pass, meaning there's really no reason not to jump in and get down to some good old co-operative strategy action."

@spoonman2 Same, wasn't for me. I wonder if we count in the 3 million
I like the game... if you're with friends and all got mics it's a good time.
It's one of those games that I'd probably give it a go if a few friends were also wanting to or already playing. Its not something I'd download to try 'solo' or with 'randoms' so I haven't bothered with it yet.
I hope Ubi see this as a success and hopefully being on Gamepass is a big part of that success. Maybe that'll increase the chances of Ubisoft joining Gamepass and not just bringing Ubi+ to Xbox (as is planned)
I tried it, made 2 matches or so, after that I've uninstalled it. Didn't liked it. But I'm also glad that it had a good start.
Wait, I can cross platform the buddy pass thing? That's awesome. Got a friend on PS who was interested in it but didn't want to solo. I don't have a PS5 so this is perfect.
I played it and found it became an operator MIA simulator so I uninstalled it.
There is so much promise in the Rainbow Six formula but no Siege campaign or worthwhile co-op was a real disappointment. Finally we get both and it's against some bland Aliens with a lazy/generic story. Ubisoft could be king of the tactical co-op shooter and maybe even military campaign shooter genre with better writing and more gameplay options. I'm sure if a dev out there really put some effort into those things they'd have a huge game on their hands (provided it had regular multiplayer as well I suppose).
