All good things must come to an end, unfortunately. Today, that's true of Xbox 360 era Halo, at least the online multiplayer anyway. 343 Industries is closing down matchmaking across Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Halo 4 today, January 13th, in order to focus on more modern Halo titles.
So, we're spending a bit of our evening playing some Halo 3 until the servers officially die. It's pretty populated right now, even if the live player counter isn't accurate (it hasn't changed all day).
Team Slayer is the order of the day, to get as many games in as possible before the servers vanish into thin air. It's been great Spartans, now we really have to finish the fight.
What are some of your fondest Halo memories? Let us know below.

That one halo 4 guy be on like:
I’m confused- is this just through the 360 or does this include the Master Chief collection versions of those games too?
@Luigi_Skywalker I guess they mean the 360 versions as the servers are closing down today. The MCC versions of the games are going no where any time soon.
Played a few Halo 3 matches yesterday and totally forgot about the aiming reticle offset. Ended up being way too jarring and I went back to MCC. RIP 360 servers, but I'll always have those rose-tinted memories of the Halo 3 heyday to keep me warm.
Where the none because halo blows option
@ParsnipHero great, thanks!
Finished all the online achievements on 3 Reach 4 and ODST and just in the nick of time. Did them in 2 weeks with help from a great boosting squad, servers went down at 2045 today RIP Halo 360 after 15 years
Sad to see True Achievements now flag 39 Halo 3 Achievements as discontinued
@Luigisghost669 I think that's the logout button in the menu.
I will try to play something but may play on mcc
None because I’m playing Fallout 3 (for the first time) with the fps boost 😃
