As first reported by VGC, and initially flagged up by journalist Tom Henderson on Twitter, it appears as though we'll be getting our hands on a brand new Need for Speed in Q4 of this year.
The latest entry in the racing franchise was first announced back in 2020 and set to arrive last year, but was then subsequently put on ice as developer Criterion was drafted in to support duties on the somewhat troubled Battlefield 2042. Now it appears things are back on track with the game, which had a new expected release window of March 2023 according to EA's Chief Studios Officer Laura Miele, and we should be seeing it a little sooner than had perhaps been expected.
Henderson has also reported that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, which has been rumoured to be arriving late this year, will likely drop around the same time as this new Need for Speed. Good news for petrol heads and Force fans!
Looking forward to a new entry in the Need for Speed franchise arriving later this year? Let us know in the comments.

Finally, I need to see this happen. I don’t have a Xbox (yet) but I am glad to see NFS back in action after Heat.
This is the only EA franchise I care about. Others I don’t care
Not expecting to be blown away, but as a NFS fanboy I will undoubtedly be there day one. Really hope the don't screw this up (Again)
