It's time for another batch of Free Play Days titles! More games are available to play for free this weekend for Xbox Live Gold members, and they're ready to download right now.
So, what's on offer? The highlight is undoubtedly Battlefield 2042, which includes the Series X and Series S versions, while there's also rogue-lite strategy RPG Star Renegades and adventure / investigation game The Sinking City.
- Battlefield 2042 (Xbox One)
- Battlefield 2042 (Xbox Series X|S)
- Star Renegades
- The Sinking City (Xbox One)
As always, remember that you'll require Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to take advantage of the official Free Play Days titles. They will be live from today until late on Sunday, January 9th.
The majority of these games are on sale as well, with Battlefield 2042 available (for all consoles) at 10% off, and The Sinking City available at 80% off, either for the standard version or the Necronomicon Edition. Unfortunately, the next-gen specific version of The Sinking City isn't on sale, nor is it playable with Free Play Days this weekend.
Will you be trying out any of these games this weekend? Let us know below.

Can’t wait to play this on Gamepass. Shouldn’t take long now.
@Ocat by the time they completely fix Battlefield 2042 it will be on EA Play...
@Ocat im not sure I'll even try the game once it's in EA Play/GPU. Nothing about it is making me want to play it vs jumping back into Infinite.
Only way I'm fixing to try it. I was going to wait till they fixed it up, but if the file isn't too big then I'll find out this weekend.
I'd recommend the sinking city, very unique experience. Reminds me of the game murdered soul suspect but open world
I bought the game believing the hype. The game had got great ideas... but poorly executed. The lack of diversity in guns is absurd. The lack of polish is expected in this Era of "fix it later" games
Who needs a free weekend of BF2042 when I still have 6 hours on the trial I downloaded the day it was available?
