If you've been eagerly awaiting Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires and its return to a smaller-stage format, there's now a free demo out for the upcoming release!
The demo, which is live now across Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, features two of the game's modes. The tutorial is here, which contains a Castle Siege, along with the game's Edit mode. Edit mode allows you to create "Custom Officers from a wide range of parts".
The Politics system is not present in the demo, although it'll be there in the full release. Speaking of which, the full game finally launches February 15th, after a year-long delay from early 2021.
The demo store listing provides a few interesting details about how the game will run across different Xbox systems. Interestingly, the Xbox One X won't support 4K, but both the Xbox Series X and Series S will. We'll have to see how that one shakes out on release.

I don't like Xbox "demos." In a lot of cases, they are the full game that takes up all the space on the hard drive, with just limiters. Also, you earn achievements, so if you end up not liking the game and do not wish to buy, you're stuck at 2% completion forever.
LoL that custom skin that is showed at the very end of the clip... It seriously kinda looks like a chick with a really bad mustache haha.
That said, the trailer made the game look kinda fun, Ill download n play the demo. But unless this came to Game Pass I don't think this is the kind of game I would pay full price for.
Not to knock the quality of this, mostly the play style of this game doesn't compel me
I played Dynasty Warriors 2 back in 2000. I think I know what to expect.
Wow. It really looks like crap on Series S. In performance mode, it has N64 levels of fog. Quality mode lets the game stutter frequently. D:
I always felt that the kingdom under fire games did the musou formula a little better.
@PhhhCough Yea, same here. OG Xbox KUF games are the best in the genre. Miss those games. Unfortunately, no word on their release on Series x.
