The original Dying Light is known for its long-term support, with new content arriving years after its 2015 release. This is atypical for a single player game, but it looks like the trend will continue with Dying Light 2.
After revealing some console comparisons, and a new gameplay trailer, developer Techland took to Twitter to announce its post-launch plans for Dying Light 2. It seems we're going to see updates for some time, up to five years in fact.
Those updates will include "new stories, locations, in-game events", and will likely take shape as a mixture of paid and free DLC, just like the original Dying Light.
This level of support is great news for players who want to get a little more out of their initial purchase. It's been seven years since Dying Light, and it looks like the sequel will be sticking around for a while yet.
Does this level of support entice you to pick up Dying Light 2? Let us know below.

It's a difficult balance for PR. There are fans that love the support of the first game and they want to push that. But there are also fans that like their time to be respected. Both views valid but difficult to appease both.
But the recent announcements have hurt more than helped for many gamers on the later side. I've seen a lot of people less enthused with the game each successive PR misfire. Almost feel they should keep shtum right now.
So basically they are guaranteeing an unfinished game at launch. Well folks, looks like this was also a unexpected day-one Game Pass announcement too. lol
It's already on preorder and I have yet to finish the 1st part. That's how much this franchise is worth it to me. Such an amazing series.
I’m not interested in this game, but when I hear companies use statements like this to advertise single player games, all I could think about is how they are admitting the game is unfinished. Statements like this make sense for multiplayer games that have to make sure they have a consistent playerbase, but for a single player game it doesn’t matter if one person or one million people are playing the game, since the player would still be able to experience the game. A statement like this only tells me that the best option is to buy the game in five years and get thw whole experience for probably less than $5.
