343 Industries dropped the new batch of Halo Infinite playlists on the game yesterday (Team Slayer, Free-For-All, Tactical Slayer and Fiesta), and has confirmed that the team will now be taking a break over the holiday period.
Nevertheless, they've been hard at work recently focusing on the likes of Ranked & BTB matchmaking updates, taking in feedback on ranked progression, trying to iterate, tune and prune the selection of Challenges, and much more.
You can find all the in-depth details about all of these categories over at Halo Waypoint:
343 Industries says the latest update "marks another step forward as we partner with you to improve and evolve Halo Infinite," with the team continuing to enhance the multiplayer component. For now though, it's time for a rest!
"Once the team has had a chance to recharge over the holiday break, we’ll be back at it and looking at more opportunities to continue evolving your Halo Infinite experience."
How are you finding the new playlist updates for Halo Infinite? Let us know down in the comments.

It was a great update. Was enjoying Slayer yesterday. Looking forward to playing some of the other modes tonight.
@Chaudy SWAT for me. I was 2/2 on steaktakular wins as a warmup. Enjoying the changes but playing Fiesta can be a real pain at times .
What about an update for the campaign to fix the cutscene stutter?
Swat and Slayer were nice last night. Hit 47 on the battlepass now, it's much quicker to level up now I must admit.
@Spaceman-Spiff This. This is what I'm waiting for.
I just can't understand how a big budget game like that can render this type of cutscenes. Especially when the rest of the game is perfectly fine, visually speaking. It's beyond me.
Surprisingly last night was my most frustrating night yet trying to complete the challenges. It was always "Win this mode in ranked" and I only like to play Ranked with a party since it's so intense so I used not one, not two, not three but four challenge swaps I'd saved up to get anything outside of ranked and I ended up getting the original challenge I wanted to avoid in the first place!🤦♂️
That said I still had fun though! Happy holidays 343 and my fellow Spartans!
How about actually allowing you to turn off cross-play in the section that specifically has a drop down box for cross-play?...
@Bobobiwan It feels like a lot of the focus has been and continues to be on the multiplayer rather than the campaign. As someone who could not care less about the multiplayer this is disappointing.
@Spaceman-Spiff I understand your frustration but making quick tweaks to weekly challenges and adding in game modes which were likely almost ready for launch isn't likely going to require the same level of effort fixing campaign bugs will. It might not even been the same team working in these things. The MP has been out a month now whereas the campaign has been out a week. I’m sure the campaign will see some love in the new year after the break.
@ParsnipHero Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware that this is very much a first world problem I have! It's not even that the cut scene stutter bothers me that much. It just feels like a signifier of how much the pendulum has swung towards multiplayer in recent years for many devs. I'm old (mid-thirties) and miss the days of tent pole campaign releases being the thing that everyone got excited for, rather than whatever shiny helmet or dance move was being offered if you won enough xp somewhere. Bah!
@ParsnipHero And, to address your point more directly, yes I can appreciate what you're saying, however the cut scene stutter issue was highlighted almost a month ago - before either the multiplayer or campaign were released.
Swat is so fun and really makes you work, easily my go to mode now.
@Spaceman-Spiff I’m also mid-thirties. I get it. I’ve just spent the past 15 years playing online games (it’s how I met my wife actually)!
I don’t know what happened. I used to enjoy story games but when I get home work I’d prefer to have the gaming equivalent of a bag of crisps rather than a full meal.
@WallyWest I love SWAT. It's so different from other modes. It's great when a usually busy map goes quiet as people as carefully moving around looking for a glimpse of the enemy.
Not great if you're on a crunch for time though.
@Trmn8r they've addressed the playlists & battlepaas complaints but haven't even mentioned crossplay it must be something they want to ignore
@Would_you_kindly Same as Apex Legends devs... They want to force console players to play at a disadvantage to PC players... Makes zero sense to have that option sitting there and not even work. It's like they put it there just to taunt you.
@Trmn8r I don't have a problem with crossplay in racing games etc but in shooters I just don't want to play against pc players I get they want to keep their playerbase high but I'd rather play against bots than someone who has a clear advantage
@Would_you_kindly Agreed. But, in these cases, there is way more than enough of a playerbase to accommodate it. For years, people clamored for crossplay. Well, it now got us forced crossplay. People want the OPTION of crossplay, instead the pendulum swung the other way and we are stuck playing against PC players against our will. And anyone who says it's the same is lying to you. I used to play shooters on PC. The precision of a mouse and the movement of a keyboard far exceeds any added aim assist they put on controller. You can't wiggle back n forth instantly with a controller while honing in a headshot with the sniper like you can on PC...
