Has Battlefield 2042 been crashing your Xbox Series X (or Series S)? You're not alone. We've seen countless reports about this over the past few days since the arrival of the EA Play trial, and a fix is officially on the way.
Taking to the EA forums over the weekend, the DICE team confirmed that it's aware of these problems on Xbox Series X specifically, and it's "caused by a system issue which is also impacting FIFA, Madden, and NBA2k players."
"We are aware of some Battlefield 2042 players on Xbox Series X experiencing a full console shutdown crash during gameplay. Based on our active investigation with Microsoft, this crashing is caused by a system issue which is also impacting FIFA, Madden, and NBA2k players."
The update targeting this issue is reportedly already available to Xbox Insiders, and is set to release publicly for all Xbox users starting November 17th as an optional update, and November 23rd as a mandatory update.
Hopefully this will mark the end of Battlefield 2042's crashing issues on Xbox Series X, along with all those other aforementioned titles. Riders Republic has been having similar problems as well - maybe that'll be added to the bunch!

The sad thing is crashes will be blamed on Xbox, the hardware, and fanboys will have a field day, when in reality it is clearly a developer/software issue that is being fixed with a patch.
Glad they fixed it, but as usual it should have been caught earlier.
Typical and very normal Dice Battlefield launch.
Not saying it is right or way it should be at all. Just saying it is the usual unpolished game from Dice.
@Kienda uh...the issue IS on xbox's firmware. thats why the update...is going to be a firmware update for the xbox.
I haven't had any full system crashes but i've had one crash to the dashboard an thats about it.
It took many months to get Battlefield 4 in order - so no surprise here.
I have the insider update already installed and Xbox still crashes/full shutdown so hope they can come up with something else soon
