Forza Horizon 5 may not be officially launching until this Tuesday with Xbox Game Pass, but over one million players appear to have already dived into the early access edition of the game with the Premium Edition bundle.
Following an immensely positive reception with its reviews, it seems players just can't wait until November 9th to drift into Forza Horizon 5. The Premium Edition (or add-on bundle for Xbox Game Pass players) is striking a chord with many users judging by these early numbers.
From our own experience, one challenge currently has 969,211 players listed as completing the speed trap. However, one Twitter user has come across a particular challenge which listed 1,023,752 users.
It's an impressive feat - especially considering Forza Horizon 4 managed two million players in its first week. With Forza Horizon 5's inclusion into Xbox Game Pass still to come, it's easy to imagine that past milestone trumped.
In our review we called Forza Horizon 5 an "amazing game", but one that perhaps feels a bit familiar to past instalments. With the official launch just hours away, it won't be long before everyone gets to try it with Xbox Game Pass.

Wow that is seriously impressive considering itβs included in everyones Sub from Tuesday. I had early access for FH4 but have managed to wait this one out until tomorrow. Looks incredible as always.
Anyone know what time it releases on gamepass for BST? Is it midnight?
Will be joining in tomorrow, downloaded and ready to go.
@SplooshDmg nice, thanks
I was a part of that 1 million and enjoying it a lot. This game is a 9.5 not a 8
IT'S OUT TOMORROW πππππ
Oh god, I had to punish myself and read metacritic reviews.
People giving it a 0/10, then when you click on their profile you see they've given every ps5 game a 10/10 and this is the first Xbox game they've reviews π π π π π it's genuinely hilarious
But back on topic! TOMORROW!!!!!!! AAAAAAGH
Wow. $46m already from a gamepass game. I wonder if ms will continue to do something similar for other first party games. Halo? State of decay 3?
@Chaudy you should be able to play now if you change the region in your Xbox Settings to New Zealand
@Vepra - oh wow thanks, will try that
I reckon the 4 day early access was the clincher for a lot of people, myself included. If the bundle was βjustβ the car packs and expansions then more people would have been on the fence. Microsoft pulled quite a savvy move! It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the numbers - who bought just the premium bundle, to play the game through GP, and who bought the premium edition outright - actually owning the game and all add-ons.
@PhhhCough it will likely continue going forward. Don't most games have an early access for a premium edition? I recall hearing this quite often. I really don't care so long as it's staying within the one week or less time frame, anything outside of that and the games will not be day n date anymore in my eyes.
@RedKnight34 I agree with you, I would scores FH5 much higher than 8. But it's okay if people have differential opinions. I'm not calling you out specifically, but I believe a lot of people here are too salty about that review.
@FriendlyOctopus It's a shame that metacritic is generally useless for user reviews on any platform. The amount of hate ratings is just asinine.
You can just go to the Hall of Fame to see total players.
As of about an hour ago, it stood at 1.18m.
Awesome to hear. I wonβt be staying up til midnight to play it but I might go to bed a couple hours early to play it in the morning before work.
