We've got some exciting news to share for fans of EA's classic Fight Night boxing series, as it's being reported that a new title has actually begun early development, but it's been put on "pause" for the time being.
This report comes via reliable leaker Tom Henderson at Video Games Chronicle, who advises that the project is codenamed "Moneyball". The reason it's been put on "pause" is because EA wants to focus on UFC 5 for now, and so Henderson advises that it could be "several years" before the new Fight Night gets a release.
According to an apparent internal email, the company wants to "eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality."
There's plenty to be excited about if you're a boxing fan, then, especially with the superb-looking eSports Boxing Club on the horizon as well. But in the case of Fight Night specifically, it looks like we're just going to have to be patient.

I really miss it, this was personally one of my favorite fighting game series, probably my favorite fighter to take seriously as it felt more like real fighting.
Fight Night Champion is on gamepass its such an amazing game. Has one of the best campaigns in a sports game.
@Chaudy YES! I agree. 😊😊😀
I could be up playing this. Have to have good single player story though.
Just can't get into boxing anymore. Not sure if just me, or sport lost all its magic, excitement, or talent over the years.
Oh yes! Was a big fan.
Fightn' finally!
