We've got more exciting Xbox Game Pass news to share for December, as it's been confirmed that Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be coming to the service on December 14th, arriving alongside the free Season 2 update for the game.
If you don't know anything about it, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter in which you face off against waves of Xenomorph and Weyland-Yutani Synthetic foes alongside two players or AI teammates. We gave it a 7/10 in our review earlier this year, stating that "there's plenty to enjoy, lots of fun nods to the movies, tons of lore, impressive attention to environmental detail and slick Xeno-slaying action."
The free Season 2 update will introduce the new Point Defense game mode, a new Lifetime Stats feature, four new weapons, an assortment of new attachments, new weapon colorways and decals, new emotes and much more.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite will be included with Game Pass on Xbox and PC, and will support cross-play!
Set in the iconic Alien universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter that drops your fireteam of hardened marines into a desperate fight to contain the evolving Xenomorph threat.

Yes!
I was interested in this game and have almost purchased it on a couple of occasions, I was just waiting for a sale, now I will give it a go on Gamepass for sure.
Glad I didn’t drop 40 on this.
I bought it for PS5!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Great game tho.
It should launched on game pass to begin with.
Very excited to try this one out.
Such games mostly come to Game Pass. Mostly.
Almost bought it but always felt this is a perfect game for Game Pass. Needless to say, I'm very happy with this news 😁
Cool - another game I'd like to try but not enough to justify the 'buy'...
From the GQ Interview...
The Game Pass subscribers spend 50 per cent more than non-subscribers. A game’s average engagement goes up eight times when added to Game Pass. And player experimentation within genres dramatically increases. Three years after release, Sea Of Thieves just passed 25 million players, and that continues to grow...
I bet Sea of Thieves would really struggle to sell 5 million in 3yrs so its proof it can really work and be sustainable - It can breathe Life into games that 'struggled' at retail for whatever reason and when ALL devs/publishers realise this, I can see many more games wanting to be on GP!!
This is the type of content I like to see, games that are supposed to be fun, not quite indie and not quite triple AAA either. Truly does put a smile on my face. I do hope it's actually decent though. I did think they would wait until the game awards to drop more heavy hitters, if they're already putting this on it now I wonder what else is in store for us.
Oh tight! Have had this on my Xmas wishlist, so really can't wait to try it out! I think Gamepass eill really help with player count
Really excited to play this with a buddy. ☺️
@BAMozzy Avengers would love to have a word with you. Lol
@Cherip-the-Ripper That is my biggest complaint with game pass being touted as this amazing deal for gamers with over 100 games. Omg it's the greatest thing...like ever!
What I've seen the vast majority being those 8 bit garbage indie games. Honestly I could bring out my old Nintendo Entertainment System and save $15 a month playing 8 bit games on that.
@oconnoclast 🍻
I probably would’ve pulled the trigger on it if I weren’t drowning in my backlog. Love me some 3ps
@GuyinPA75 I couldn't have said it any better dude, it's not like some of them aren't actual quality. But I didn't grow up in the era where it was the norm and now I can't look at it as anything else but something of a bygone era. Such a letdown whenever I see one added even though I've actually played a few of those 8bit games.
Perfect addition for Game Pass.
These type of multiplayer games are ideal for the service and I think publishers are starting to realize this.
This looks a fantastic online coop game.
Won’t have any time for this because Among Us arrives on GP a few days before 🤪🤪🤪
And yet another game that I have bought (after Generation Zero, just yesterday, Scarlet Nexus a few weeks back, to name just two) appears on the GamesPass. It happens to me very often, and I'm beginning to think that with co-op games in particular, it's probably best to hold off on them for a few months and see whether they end up on the GamesPass. Even more annoyingly, I bought Aliens Fireteam on a previous sale, and still haven't managed to play it because my backlog is continuously growing, so I could have played it effectively for 'free', certainly without having bought it. I'll probably never learn...
Happy for the people that didn't buy it, but as someone that apparently paid to test their game for them before this seemingly more feature complete update, I am kinda salty... lol
