It's almost been a year since the Xbox Series X launched, and while many have got their hands on the luxurious next-gen model, there's still plenty of people waiting. With many huge first-party games on the horizon, the desperation to retrieve one is settling in for some people, but thankfully, it sounds like a boost in stock could be right around the corner.
According to Christopher Dring, the head of GamesIndustry.biz, news of stock improvements has been heard within the industry. It's claimed stock levels will increase "quite a bit for the year-end run-in, just in time for Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon."
He added that those games are intended to be "key hardware selling points during the Christmas sales window."
It's not the most surprising news in the world, but a little bit of hope for those who are still yet to claim a new system.
With Forza Horizon 5 arriving in the next few weeks and Halo Infinite a short time after that, we imagine the demand for Xbox is about to skyrocket. Now could be time to strike while the iron is hot! Keep your eyes peeled for stock...

Dont give me hope..... I'm content with my Xbox 1 but still want a series x
Oh i hope so
Although the scalpers will probably get them all again ang charge 3x the price because they know some idiot with more money than sense will buy it
Sure would be great to have a pre-ordering option thru the Xbox marketplace instead of fighting scalpers!
If Microsoft can keep them out of the hands of scalpers this could be a big win for them (scalpers don't add to games sales).
Based on Now In Stock the Microsoft store is the only place that ever has stock online. If I can find one it will be very tempting even though I really don't feel ready to jump into a new generation yet. Too much backlog. Either way I hope people get them and not bots.
This is good news. I'm hoping to get one before summer of 2022 but who knows if that's happening.
@IronMan30 Install the hotstock app ,I've already got a series X thanx to that app but I've had about 20 alerts this week alone and the posts are fully of ppl that have gotten one thanx to the app
So they are going to improve stock flow just to have them sit in shipping container on a dock somewhere.
Honestly for anyone looking to get one get on Amazon an hour or so before and refresh it. You will get one.
I logged in on works vpn for both series x and ps5 and got both at launch. Definitely doable. Scalpers can do one.
@Jaxx420 also ensure you have 1 click ordering on with Amazon, then if you get it it's done in a click.
@Martsmall downloaded, thanks for the advice!
@IronMan30 yw , gd luck hope you manage to bag one
Cool. Maybe I will get a second one.
Very grateful for the shortage as it lead me to getting the much less expensive Series S which is perfect for my TV. 60 FPS on FH4 and very soon FH5 is so awesome, not to mention the much improved load times.
I guess we will see. I lucked out with an X at launch, along with my small playgroup. My kids saved for next gen systems and both ended up getting the Series S due to it being the only one they can find.
Good luck everyone!
I was fortunate enough to get a Series X from Argos (UK) at launch and have loved every minute of it.
Forza Horizon 5 is gonna be a treat!
Good luck! I just lucked into finding a S back in early summer but I've never seen a X.
Great news! It will still likely be an ear-to-the-ground and F5 mashing experience sadly, but wishing everyone luck who wants one.
@Zag_Man "I assume now that all the Xcloud server blades have been swapped out we can see more stock coming in."
Where did you hear that? Did I miss some news? I assume they will keep adding Server blades, especially if Xcloud takes off like they want it to.
Hoping for more stock though for all those who want one.
@Zag_Man Thanks. And sorry I wasn't clear. I knew they were balancing Server blades vs consoles my point was I assume they will continue to add new server blades and datacentres as the service (hopefully) gains traction. So it doesn't completely solve the issue, but will hopefully help!
Still haven't seen any Series X's in the wild or online, although I'm kinda shocked how often i see Series S's in stock. Its not super common, but i tend to see them in stock like once or twice a month
