It's fair to say none of us would have predicted that Xbox might be working on a "Wu-Tang Clan" action-RPG, but it looks like that might be the case! And the developer is supposedly Brass Lion Entertainment.
Windows Central describes Brass Lion as "a relatively new studio comprised of industry vets", and says it believes the studio is "currently building an action RPG currently codenamed Shaolin in partnership with Xbox."
The game is described as "a third-person melee-oriented RPG complete with four-player co-op", and its campaign is a "couple of dozen" hours long, followed by a "rich" endgame. The Wu-Tang clan connection is that the famous hip-hop group will reportedly be doing the soundtrack, and the game may even contain "Wu-Tang Clan lore".
It's mentioned that plans could change for the game prior to any official announcement, but it does seem like the project is going ahead. Brass Lion has recently been advertising for a game designer to work on an "unannounced action-RPG with a dope anime aesthetic," to "help define, implement, and polish the moment-to-moment gameplay."

Just when I thought Halo campaign footage was the best thing I'd hear today π
Colour me excited.
Well of course, I mean whose mind doesn't immediately leap to the Wu Tang Clan when thinking about anime style action RPGs?
Played many hours of Wu Tang Taste the Pain on Ps1. Loved unlocking the alternate skins and fighters with similar but slightly different fighting styles to those already available. Loved the chaos of four player free-for-all fights. Managed to beat the last boss once without losing a single life. Loved the music and sounds. I hope the rpg is real and that it's console exclusive for once.
@Xenomorph_79 Wu-Tang Clan is a rap group from the 90's, still active today. Their debut album Return to the 36 Chambers is considered a true hip-hop classic.
As for this arpg news. This sounds too good to be true. Day 1 for me. Wu-Tang is for the children!!
Glad to see some fellow gamers excited for this as well!
Imagine an RPG similar to Jade Empire (melee focused) set in 90's NYC with a Wu Tang soundtrack π
Sounds awesome, really hope this rumor pans out!
@thenewguy not to mention the biggest steal, by the asian community, during that years Race Draftπ
@PhhhCough Ol' Dirty Chinese Restaurant. Hahaha. Classic!!
One for the Older gamers to relish. They have a history and love for video games. Great soundtrack guaranteed. Real pioneers too.
@Xenomorph_79
Trust me, you've almost certainly heard the single "Gravel Pit", but just not known who the artist was.
Hmmm, had me interested until "rich endgame", that sets off alarm bells. GaaS alarm bells.
Our college common room had the PS1 with the Wu-Tang clan game for a while. I've gotta say I thought it was terrible and the music was even worse.
Of course, others preferences will likely be very different to mine, so to those that enjoy Wu-Tang congrats, but I'll likely be skipping this game.
@Xenomorph_79
I guess that means you are very young or very old LOL
Think it came out around 2000 (so I was 27 or 28 at the time).
Not another Co op game π
What is with Xbox and co-op games. Its not 2010. Enough already.
Ooooooookaaaayyyy....
