The Halo Infinite hype train has officially left the station now, with yesterday's campaign overview trailer being complimented today by a new story trailer focusing on Escharum and The Banished.
Yet again, the short video is getting a ton of praise, and Escharum is looking suitably terrifying.
Here's the official description from 343 Industries:
"Escharum, leader of the Banished, declares humanity's destruction to be imminent, starting with its heroes. Master Chief faces his greatest challenge yet."
With now just a few weeks to go until the release of Halo Infinite, we're expecting a major marketing campaign from Xbox in the lead up to December 8th. We can't wait to get playing and suiting up as Master Chief once again!
What are your thoughts on this Banished Halo Infinite trailer? Let us know down in the comments.

Loving Escharum already. The writing seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of Halo 5, which always felt stiff and clinical.
Edit: I'd recommend folks read Shadows of Reach for a bit of extra background on Escharum's place in the Halo universe. Not the best book in the series, but worth a read.
Let's freaking go!!!!
@Olliemar28 Thanks for the tip on that.
This is what hurts halo a lot. At least for me as have zero desire to read the novels. Ever.
In think halo 4, chief goes, it's the didact!, like he was in the previous games. I felt lost going forward in that game as if missed playing a game somewhere.
It's cool to reference the books. But make sure it somehow backtracks for the halo gamer too. Not just superfans.
The hype is strong with this one….
This is more like what I was expecting yesterday. Loved it. At this rate we’ll get a halo video every day this week 😀
So if the Banished are in Infinite, where does that leave Halo Wars 3 now? Looks to me like 343 completely failed at doing campaigns twice and had to rip off Halo Wars 2 to create a better story for Infinite.
@NoLifeDGenerate Okay
@Olliemar28 I’m in the process of reading chiefs trilogy of Silent Storm, Oblivion, and Shadows of Reach. Still in the first one but I’m loving it so far!
@GuyinPA75 100% this. It’s some grade A BS when they finish video game storylines in other media. At the end of the day that’s just poor storytelling.
Imagine MCU letting you know Thanos’ fate in a book not in the movie. Was so confused at the start of Halo 5.
@NoLifeDGenerate @GuyinPA75 I will be incredibly disappointed if Atriox isn't in Infinite in some shape or form. It's cool if they don't want to continue all of the plot points from Halo Wars 2 but killing off the main baddy off screen is a low blow.
@RedShirtRod Atriox isn't dead, he is missing though. Escharum is one of Atriox's members of his inner circle and was a mentor to Atriox as well. Escharum is older than Atriox. I am excited to see where 343 takes the Banished in Halo, I find them to be a very interesting enemy.
