Judging by yesterday's previews of Forza Horizon 5, it's going to be a visual stunner. Many outlets were blown away by the game's visuals, and it's not surprising. Playground Games has perhaps crafted its most beautiful game thus far, and while the Xbox One version may not hit the same benchmark, the developer still claims it "looks very good".
Speaking to Press Start, creative director Mike Brown spoke about the last-gen version of the game. While admitting there will be loading screens, he stated: "the game actually looks very good on Xbox One".
"I don’t think we’ve released the Initial Drive for the Xbox One version yet, but there are loading screens. I’ll be willing to admit that. The game actually looks very good on Xbox One, but it doesn’t have an SSD. So there are restrictions of the past."
Brown later added that he also believes Forza Horizon 5 will be "one of the better-looking games on Xbox One" and that "people are really gonna love it".
"I think that it will be one of the better-looking games on Xbox One. I think people are really gonna love it. It’s an Xbox One game, it’s not gonna look as good as the Series X. It is going to have loading screens, that’s the reality of that. But I think it wasn’t any extra complication for us versus making it on a low spec PC. And I think the version that’s coming out people are gonna be really happy with."
It's all sounding pretty promising with the latest entry. Past instalments in the franchise have looked phenomenal on Xbox One, there's no arguing that. Forza Horizon 5 seems to be pushing even further, with some of the best visuals we've seen on the Xbox Series X|S to date.
There's plenty of gorgeous 4K gameplay flying around, so if you haven't checked it out in action yet, be sure to feast your eyes on the visual treat that it is.

But it will be 30 fps on Xbox One then right?
@anoyonmus that's a definite I think
Curious what the resolution will be on the series S for the 60fps mode, as the 30fps mode is 1080p😕
Why not just show gameplay of the Xbox one version
I have faith that this game will be very pretty, even on an Xbox One fat. 2, 3 and 4 all ran at 1080p/30fps and a solid fps at that, this will the same.
@anoyonmus 2, 3 and 4 ran at 30fps on Xbox One, so I am sure it will.
They did add a 60fps mode to the XB1X version of FH4, but it did cut the res down to 1080p.
I would guess that it will be 1080p/30 on the XB1/XB1S and 4K/30 on the XB1X and that is just fine, the FH games have been rock solid 30fps with perfect frame pacing and good motion blur, they genuinely play really well at 30fps.
I like how in the interview he spoke about how developers optimise a game for the lowest PC spec they can and how making an Xbox One version is no different. This should go against people that argue the Series S will hold back development.
Same with PlayStation saying GoW and Horizon:FW will now be on PS4 aswell. Both games will still look phenomenal on PS4 and it won't take anything away from how they look/play on PS5
I wonder if they're going to be unique products, like how Forza Horizon 2 on 360 was different from the Xbox One version.
I only ask 'cuz I want to double-dip achievements
Trouble with cross play is xbox one players and low spec PCs hold up online multiplayer with long load times .. very frustrating
I’m in on Xbox One X! It’s the game I’m looking forward to the most on any console. It will be more if the same. But that’s ok. I just want the comfort food game.
Series X is my first ever Xbox, Forza Horizon 4 is prob my fav Xbox game. Hyped for this and Gran Turismo too for PS5. Will be interesting to see which is better!!
