Following various rumours doing the rounds online earlier today, EA has confirmed this evening that Battlefield 2042 is indeed getting a slight delay, being pushed back from October 22 to November 19.
In a message on Twitter, the team explained that the "global pandemic has created unforeseen challenges", and therefore they feel "it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042".
As also mentioned in the message above, updates on the planned Open Beta for the game will supposedly be arriving later this month, but no further details have been shared at the time of writing.
Battlefield 2042's delay will push it into the busy pre-Christmas period, with the game set to arrive very close to the likes of Forza Horizon 5 (November 9) and Halo Infinite (December 8). The delay is a disappointment, but we've got high hopes for this one, and we're confident it's going to be worth the wait.

The more these games are delayed the worse off Halo is going to end up with that many more fresh games releasing closer.
