EA Sports has unveiled the official cover star of FIFA 22 today, and in a fairly predictable move, it's the France and PSG star, Kylian Mbappé. This marks the second year in a row for Mbappe, who also graced the cover of FIFA 21.
In addition, it's been confirmed that we'll be getting the official reveal trailer for FIFA 22 this Sunday, July 11 at 11:30am ET / 4:30pm BST, meaning you've got just enough time to enjoy it and get hyped before the Euro 2020 final.
There are no further details for now, other than the game will be available in multiple editions and will continue to support Dual Entitlement, meaning the Xbox One version will (presumably) get a free upgrade to Xbox Series X and S.
Interestingly though, the cover does mention something called "Hypermotion Technology", which sounds brand-new for the FIFA series. There's also no reference to the Frostbite Engine, which has been powering FIFA for years.
We'll find out more this Sunday!

Given how dreadful he was for France in the Euros they may be regretting that choice right now!
@BionicDodo that last penalty kick was painful to watch smh
EA: Even After that dreadful Euro 2020 penalty shootout, we'll still put Kylian on the front cover. That'll surely make the people remember him for all the right reasons...
Regardless of his performance it should never be the same player twice in a row (imho).
This no doubt has a financial benefit as his personal brand recognition will increase.
EA should give others players a chance in the spotlight, surely?
