Spike Chunsoft has surprised fans with the announcement of AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative.
It's a sequel to the 2019 mystery detective adventure game AI: The Somnium Files and will be arriving on the Xbox One in Spring 2022. Here's what we know about it so far, along with the announcement trailer which includes a physical release confirmation:
"Six years ago, the right half of a corpse was discovered under mysterious circumstances. The left half was never found...until six years later, when it was discovered completely fresh with no signs of decay, as though the victim was alive until just recently. Now, newly-appointed Special Agent Mizuki and her AI partner Aiba are tasked to solve the bizarre Half Body serial killings..."
The game's official Japanese website has also gone live:

I’m pleasantly surprised to see this on xbox, but I bought the first game on switch and would probably get this game for switch too. Maybe I’d buy if on switch and then download it and replay it if/when it comes to Gamepass.
Wow this is a pleasant surprise. I wonder about the first game.
Awesome! Keep bringing that Japanese fire Xbox! 🔥💚
First game was a delight. Cool that they’re putting this on Xbox but I question it if they don’t put the first game on Xbox as well, wouldn’t want to jump on at the sequel.
I played the demo on ps4 and like it but never got round to buying it, il hold out for a few more months see if it comes to gamepass
Xbox needs this kind of games. Bravo. But I though it was the first one… I need to play that one on switch then.
Hopefully they bring the original and some of their other games to Xbox as well.
@Sakisa yeah it could definitely effect things. P5 Strikers did considerable less on Nintendo Switch I think because it was more of a sequel.
We'll take the first one as well, Chun-san.
