We're always on the lookout for unique indie games heading to Xbox, and Golf Club: Wasteland definitely fits the bill, taking the form of a 2D puzzle-platformer in which Earth has become a golf course for the ultra-rich.
The game is presented as a story, with each hole offering its own narrative and possible puzzle to sink the perfect shot. You'll play across destroyed brutalist monuments, crumbling shopping malls, and abandoned museums, and there are also Challenge and Iron modes - the latter described as having "almost zero room for error."
Golf Club: Wasteland will be available for Xbox One this August, and is already highly-rated for mobile.
"Piece together the full story of how humanity fell through three distinct sources. Details from the lone golfer’s story, who's come back to Earth for one last game. The Radio Nostalgia From Mars broadcast that gives a glimpse into the lives of those who escaped. And the narration of a “secret spectator” watching from a distance..."

Switch or xbox..first world problems, for sure.
I'll pass. Golf is one of those things that should only be done in 3D, like racing games. It's about hitting a ball a long ways away from the golfer - you need it to be behind-the-back with a good look forwards. Except for Ninja Golf on the old Atari, there's no point for any golf game to be done via sidescrolling or single-screen nonsense; it's far too simplistic this way.
2D golf sounds weird. This is something I'll have to experience for myself in order to find out if it works. But that's life, right?
