If you thought Xbox was already working on a ton of promising games from their first-party studios, then buckle in, as word on the street is another five are set to be unveiled at E3.
As mentioned by well known insider Klobrille on the Xbox Era forums, he suggested we may be seeing five brand-new games from across Xbox Game Studios. All are said to be AAA in budget, joining previously announced games from last year such as Fable and Avowed.
Klobrille also believes we'll see a lot more gameplay this year compared to last year. A point of negative feedback from Xbox's showcase last Summer was centred around the over saturation of CGI trailers instead of actual gameplay. With that being said, it seems a fair expectation to see more gameplay at the event this year.
"Last year at the Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox revealed 4 new, AAA games coming from their own studios; Forza Motorsport, State of Decay 3, Avowed and of course, Fable.
For this year including XGSP and Bethesda, so far, I do think I already know about 5 completely new, AAA titles being announced this Summer. Some more expected than others.
Plans are still fluctuating though. At the end of the day, I think it is a fair expectation that gameplay trailers and/or demos should have a bigger presence at least for the already announced things coming this and next year."
In the past, Klobrille has previously teased rumours that have turned out to be correct. In recent memory, he was amongst the various insiders hinting towards the gargantuan amount of FPS Boost titles that were revealed shortly afterwards. However, as they've mentioned, plans are "still fluctuating", and we're still a few weeks away from E3. Things could change, but we can't help but be excited by the prospect of even more first-party unveilings.
Which studios do you think could be unveiling a new title at E3? Drop us a comment and let us know.

Big E3 to kick off the "Next-Gen" First one I've been excited for in years.
Thank you this is exactly what I have been wanting to hear all this time. 🙏
“5+ major reveals with a solid showing for Halo Infinite and Starfield would have the makings of a great conference. Surround those with a few XGS updates for a few announced games, Game Pass news, some cool indies and a few key third party trailers and you’ve got yourself a top tier Xbox show. It may not live up to the craziest expectations of some but it would be one of Microsoft’s best E3 showings, with the knowledge that the exclusives and Game Pass situation will only improve every year over the next few years.”
Predictions : Project Typhoon, Arkane’s Project Omen, Forza Horizon 5, next Compulsion IP, next IOI IP, next Kojima IP.
FH5 is an expected one. I wonder what the Beard was excited about earlier in the year that hasn't been announced yet. I'm hoping it's a good show. I'll likely be watching it after the fact as work is going to be crazy the next few months so get some popcorn going and watch the show
FH5
Halo Spinoff
New Banjo
New Ori
Outer Worlds 2
I was gonna say new Doom, but on second thought I think they will concentrate on a Series X/S patch for Eternal before announcing a brand new title
But are any of them gonna come out anytime soon? Most likely not.
Since this is the first post-Series X launch E3, I figure we'll see a lot more gameplay and such (as indicated in the article). Like Spongebob, I'm ready!
@uptownsoul they need to stagger there devs to give them a bit steady flow of games. With these 5 plus Halo, Forza M, Avowed, Hellblade 2, Starfield the other devs are probably too early on to anounce anything. I do hope for lot of exclusives/partnerships and ID@Xbox announcements.
Five announcements?!?!?
Five exclusives...
I want Actual releases and imminent please... this doesn’t fill me with optimism.
2 this year - one for early next and 2 early production. I was hoping Bethesda alone would have 5 to announce and the absolute masses of the studios microsoft now own double that - 5 this year and we would be talking. It’s been too damn long for big AAA exclusives regularly.
5 is fine if they are all this year. Especially as Xbox was sold on all exclusives on GPU. We need to be able to silence the “what exclusives?” Tag.
@The_New_Butler I was gonna say the same. "only 5" does sound low until you remember that almost every MS studio has confirmed games already
@The_New_Butler Great list
5 new announcements would be absolutely huge. Not getting my hopes up for that many.
Very interested to see more than CGI Trailers of some games. They have a mass of games announced we just need to know more about them.
As long as I get some Forza news that'll make it a succesful event for me!
@CrazyJF It probably wont, though in all honesty anyone still saying that shouldn't be listened to in the first place.
I'm way more excited to hear about them understanding people want to see gameplay over announcements and then just some CGI.
Personally, I'm of mind to not even announce a game if there's no gameplay to show. Otherwise it's just a disappointment.
@LX_FENIX I was thinking the same thing. I’d rather hear that stuff we’ve previously heard about is close. Having another 5 games to look forward to in 3 years is cool but that story is becoming grating.
Man i'm so pumped for E3 in june.. Mark your calendar folks, It's gonna be a good one..
Lets just hope some of them are actually imminent rather than what they’ve already announced which are late 2022 at best 🤞🏻
Hopefully one of them is that horror game from Kojima that was rumoured a while back. That would excite me.
Kinektimals 2. It's got to be Kinektimals 2.
Seriously though, Phil hinted at something 1v100 related a while back, so that's something I expect. Not "AAA" but that could be one of them.
I agree with the sentiment of most of you. More than new game announcements, we need to see the ones they've been working on in action and to know when we can expect to play them. That's exciting.
There are a LOT of games that were announced last year we are still waiting to see and hear more of. CrossfireX, Scorn, Warhammer: Darktide, STALKER2, the Gunk, Chorus, the Ascent etc etc
Who knows what third party games could be partnered with MS too - Battlefield? Far Cry? Also maybe more games coming to Game Pass on Day 1, even if not exclusive, that's still a big win for Game Pass subscribers and possibly bigger than some 'new' Exclusives. Being able to play these Day 1 at no extra cost is a big deal to me.
@Stocksy 5 for this year is a bit ridiculous as an expectation. Along with Halo Infinite and Psychonauts 2 (I know not exclusive but an XGS game) that would mean 7 XGS AAA games. Sony literally only has 4 AAA exclusive games “for sure” releasing this year, 2 of which are being finished by Xbox (Tokyo Ghostwire and Deathloop) and are timed. The other two I’m referring to are Returnal and Ratchet and Clank. God of War and Horizon 2 have that vague “2021” tag line and I highly doubt that both are this year and neither has been impacted by Covid delays. That means fundamentally Sony would only get 3 games of AAA funding this year that are on PS and won’t appear on Xbox and you’re asking for 5 plus Halo from Xbox in the last 6 months of 2021? I get what you’re going for but that’s way unrealistic.
@FatalBubbles Agreed, we've all been very patient ever since they started buying studios, now is the time for stuff with release dates.
The time is now. The world needs to see these wonderful games in action. Is perfect dark 3rd or 1st person? What is everwild? What is compulsions creating? We need realistic releases. I seriously hope crossfireX and scorn release with Halo infinite, the gunk, tunic, 12 minutes, Forza 5, and maybe another surprise from XGS.
@xMightyMatt14x tbh it was tongue in cheek. Let’s be fair Xbox over the last 3/4 years are what 8/9 behind Sony.... so them stepping up to release more wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Especially with Bethesda.
I know what your saying I was partially trying to be the tonic to everyone somehow seeing this as massive news and big numbers. It isn’t for me. It’ll max this year with the ones already announced 2 exclusives. We haven’t had a single AAA exclusive this year have we? Sony output has been hurt by covid. (So we can forgive MS too) but for me (as a day one OG Xbox purchaser) MS has long made me suffer from lack of exclusives where in Xbox gen - (OG) “Only on Xbox” was a big big big list.
Banjo-Kazooie.
Look to your left, Mario. Look to your right, Ratchet & Clank.
I say again, Banjo-Kazooie.
@Stocksy 5 completely new annoucements, not 5 announcements.
@Stocksy that’s fair. I get that it’s not world changing news. But I think it’s still something to be excited about. Hopefully 1 or 2 of them are soon.
