As you might have already heard, this year marks Xbox's 20th anniversary. While the big date is actually 14th November 2021, Microsoft has decided to kick celebrations off early.
Halo also turns 20 years old this year, and 343 Industries is joining in on the fun. To highlight the great journey the Halo community has been on together over the past two decades, the developer has shared some absolutely stunning 4K artwork of Master Chief's past and present. Here it is in all its glory:
As part of this, 343 has also released a special press kit - available to the public on Halo Waypoint. Over here you can download the same anniversary poster in multiple different sizes - and apply them to your desktop or mobile device. There are even a few different mobile wallpaper designs.
What are your own best memories of Halo over the past 20 years? Leave a comment down below.

Halo LAN parties.
The RACE to the Laser in Valhalla!!! STICK!
That lump in my throat that formed seeing the first Halo 3 trailer
Playing solo on Legendary, not really up for it (hung over) and outnumbered, and towards the end I’m chased by a Banshee with the battlefield empty of weapons and ammo. I hurry into a tunnel riding a Ghost… I jump off, launch my last rocket and walk away from the explosion. KEYBOARD SOLO! The wreckage flies over my head…
Marty O’Donnell’s music, especially in Halo 3, always ramping up the action is always a highlight. It just made everything feel EPIC, the music still runs through my head.
One of the biggest losses in 4 and 5 for me, it changed the whole FEEL of Halo.
Gareth Coker of Ori fame is on board for Infinite so here’s hoping it finds a great voice again.
Halo literally changed my life.
During the early Halo 3 days when we'd make big parties and play every night, and people would wear mics and be in game chat, we met some fantastic people. I met a girl, long distance, we travelled a lot to see each other, we broke up, but I grew a lot and have some good memories as a result.
And I honestly do not think I'd be who I am today, and have my current partner and my kids if I hadn't had those experiences when I was younger.
LAN parties, playing through countless times on Legendary with friends and just turning the campaign into a ridiculous, couch versus, murder fest are some of my favorite moments.
Nostalgia and memories may play a part, but Halo will probably always be my favourite gaming franchise. Halo 3 themesong still gets the tingles going
Big Team Battles in Halo 1.
