Konami made a big splash a few years ago when it made Serie A giants Juventus exclusive to eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer - taking them away from EA's mammoth FIFA series - and Napoli is the latest team to get that treatment.
Under the terms of the new deal, Napoli will no longer be officially licensed in FIFA, but the deal doesn't start until FIFA 23, so we've still got another year yet until the Italian powerhouse makes way exclusively for PES.
Even so, the actual partnership between Napoli and Pro Evolution Soccer will begin as soon as the 2021/22 season, and the official training centre for the club is even getting a name change to the “SSC Napoli KONAMI Training Center”, featuring a brand-new gaming area for players and guests.
It's a nice start for the upcoming eFootball PES 2022, then, which looks set to be a milestone entry for the series, transitioning to the Unreal Engine for the first time and being the product of an extra year's worth of development.

Good move by PeS. I really want PeS to succeed and overtake FIFA
Well, Aurelio (Napoli owner) is known for trying to make these kind of moves. Wants Napoli in the spotlight so bad 😂
What is critical to the future of PES is the ability to easily customize teams, kits, badges etc from community websites. I heard this was difficult/impossible on Xbox One. I've always preferred the gameplay to FIFA personally.
PES licensed Napoli but Serie A is still with FIFA? How does that work? I would think licensing a league would provide access to all the teams within. I guess I'm just used to team rosters based in American leagues (NFL, NBA) being pretty static year to year.
