Anyone who's been holding off for the next-gen version of Marvel's Avengers is in luck, as it's available now to download on Xbox Series X with a weighty 106.9GB download, clocking in on Xbox Series S at 72GB.
The game will support 4K visuals on Xbox Series X and 1440p on Xbox Series S, while also offering "updated visuals, improved destruction and Heroic detail, significantly faster load times, cross-generational play and more". Square Enix has outlined everything you need to do in order to obtain the update below:
"Players who want to upgrade their digital copies must go to their respective platform’s digital store and select the free upgrade to start the download. Players with the physical copy must have the next-gen console with a disc drive and will insert the disc as part of the upgrade.
An upgrade from a physical copy to a digital-only next-gen console is not available. If you want to transfer over your save data from one generation to the next, use the respective cloud system or a USB stick to play right where you left off."
In addition to this, Hawkeye is also now available as a playable character, with an all new quest chain to follow. This looks to be a big update for Marvel's Avengers, but will it be enough to save it? Only time will tell.

I can't wait to jump back in after this update!!!
Hopefully this comes to GamePass.
107gb! I already had the game installed, so basically it's rewrote the whole file?
Are they nuts?
Can anyone confirm if the Series consoles get a 60fps option too? If not then it’s incredibly disappointing that Square locks off graphical features from one platform because of a marketing deal with Sony. I’m only asking because it doesn’t mention 60fps when square released the next gen upgrades chart on Series consoles.
Series S version is 72GB
@Rza87 Yeah, that's what happens when games get a full optimisation on Xbox Series X & S. It has to be downloaded all over again. Huge size nonetheless!
@darylb88 Thanks!
@xIFoxHound it's dynamic on Ps5, that's why there is the options...
Whereas on series x, it's locked resolution and framerate.
That's my understanding at least
They really need to put this on Game Pass
@Trmn8r gamepass is when I would actually give it a go.
Great for the 5 people that bought it.
@xIFoxHound @Rza87 The Series S has a 60fps option 1080p or a 30fps 1440p option. Both modes perform noticeably better than the One X version
@Darylb88 I just checked it out there and there are modes on Series S/X, which is good. I was just confused because they didn’t specify if Series X had a 60fps option on their next gen upgrade chart thing. But thanks!
@xIFoxHound No worries, I think it has something to do with the Sony marketing deal. I'm just playing through the Series S 60fps version myself and it's a huge improvement.
@Rza87
Xbox Series X
60FPS Mode: Dynamic 3840x1836p
30FPS Mode: Dynamic 3040x2160p
Load times: 6-7 seconds
Xbox Series S
60FPS Mode: Dynamic 2560x1400p
30FPS Mode: Native 1920x1080p
Load times: 7-8 seconds
FPS generally solid in all modes. Minor dips here and there.
Series X seems the best version for FPS mode in terms of resolution;
Series X - 3840x1836= 7.1 million pixels
PS5 - 1920x2160=4.1 million pixels
Load times faster on PS5 at just over 5 seconds.
With regards to "Players with the physical copy must have the next-gen console with a disc drive and will insert the disc as part of the upgrade.", does anyone know if you always need the disc if you do the upgrade this way? or does it basically become a digital copy once the upgrade is complete? Thanks
