We're all expecting great things from the stacked team of talent over at new Xbox studio The Initiative on Perfect Dark, and they've recently added to their line-up with former God of War gameplay features producer, Rhonda Cox.
Cox shared the news on LinkedIn yesterday, revealing she's taken up a senior producer role:
"Very excited to announce that I’ve accepted a Senior Producer position at The Initiative where I’ll be working on the recently announced Perfect Dark game! I’m beyond ecstatic to take this next step in my career, and to be a part of a franchise I’ve held dear since childhood."
In addition to the critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive God of War, Cox also was a producer on the superb Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and even worked as producer on World of Warcraft for four years.
The Initiative has been in the news recently after design director Drew Murray surprisingly left the developer to re-join Insomniac, but nevertheless, we have very high hopes for Perfect Dark given the talent and experience at that studio.

Man, Microsoft is just taking everything from Sony.
Holy moly, boy!
Scores settled. Well played Xbox! 💚
Nice catch!
Yes that’s all I wanna say Purexbox 😒
@Xiovanni I'm actually excited that their past experience is in melee based games. The initiative said that they want to gameplay to be genre agnostic so they need people with a background in making amazing melee combat based games.
"They wont stop at buying our third party games, now they buying the people that make our games!!! [angry emoji]"
Ohhh fanboyism is getting rife here. I dont like it dont want this place going down the road of other sites!
Its not an MS win over Sony. Its a dev making a career change. Enough searches on Linkedin reveal some significant switches between devs/publishers.
Good to see The Initiative getting further talent though. I just hope the new Perfect Dark doesnt get overhyped. This dev team need a good start.
Cox and Murray. What Sony/Microsoft giveth, Sony/Microsoft taketh away.
