Oops... did Microsoft just let the cat out of the bag by mistake, or is this intentional? Check out the image above, and you'll see that Batman: Arkham Knight is classed as optimised for Xbox Series X and S, which is news to us!
Various Xbox fans have already spotted this on social media, as you can see below. The original image is taken from an official announcement earlier today about improved language support on the Microsoft Store for games.
There's been no official mention as of yet about a potential Xbox Series X and S upgrade for the title, so hopefully we'll hear something properly over the coming days. That is, of course, as long as this isn't just some bizarre error.
Do you want to see an Xbox Series X and S upgrade for Batman: Arkham Knight? Let us know down below.

Microsoft has to be doing things like this on purpose, right? Either that or they're incredibly lenient when it comes to goofs.
Oooh. Hope it does receive an upgrade. Me and my son still play this and it still looks fantastic after all this time. One of the titles that works almost flawlessly with Quick Resume (other than an annoying bug which every so often mutes the sound when you resume, making you have to restart the game).
Dang, I just played through this a couple months ago. I would've waited if I'd known... Oh well, still a great game!
That would be great! I'd have liked the entire Arkham trilogy to get this treatment.
This would be amazing I hope its not an error. And also the Arkham collection should get the FPS boost.
The Batman games are some of the best games out there. Great story and amazing game play along with insane visuals. Even though i have already played them all, this would be amazing.
@everynowandben I wish publishers were more transparent about planned next gen upgrades. There are like 25 games in my backlog I am avoiding like RDR2 and AC Odyssey in hopes of a future upgrade.
Welp, there's another game staying in the backlog until I get my Series X. Lol
I would definitely play it again if it has had an upgrade. I never finished it on PS4, and this would certainly be an incentive to give it another go.
I was shocked when I fired this up today and it did quick resume and said you have been away for 1837 hours, do you want to continue. That was when the last Game Pass quest was.
Don't think it's real. Well my box isn't displaying it as X/S Enhanced anyway...
Funnily enough, around this time last year I replayed Arkham Asylum, City and Origins, with the intention of replaying Knight, so I'd love this to get a next-gen patch. I sincerely doubt it will, though, considering the game's age and the fact it never got a One X/Pro patch.
@DrEagleG yeah, because any potential update hasn't been made available to the public. The above screenshot would come from someone internally at Microsoft; someone who would likely have access to any as-yet-unreleased games and/or upgrades.
Hopefully the others too. Can't say I wanna plunk down unless I can have them all updated like this.
Unless they could easily adapt visual changes from Gotham Knights to Arkham Knight, I doubt this. Xbox also made every game "available" for Game Pass, which clearly wasn't true.
Probably just a bug.
They'd have to do a lot of work to optimize this game, from resolution, textures, frame rate etc.
This is WB. Can't see them going back to do that when the original team is working on The Suicide Squad game and the other on Gotham Knights.
