Remember the new Pulse Red Xbox Series X controller that was unveiled last month? Well, it's finally available to take home and add to your controller collection, releasing as of today, February 9th.
Available at most major retailers such as Amazon and the Microsoft Store, the Pulse Red controller clocks in at £54.99 / $64.99. As with every other Xbox Series X controller, it contains various new features such as textured grips and a Share button. Its striking red design is sure to be a conversation starter as well.
To celebrate Valentine's Day and the release of the controller, Xbox has been sending out the Pulse Red controller as part of care packages to select influencers, and some are being given away in competitions as well.

That's probably my favorite controller, just above the Robot White. The Shock Blue and Carbon Black aren't really my cup of tea.
I picked up a Shock Blue when they went on sale recently. It's a nice evolution of the Xbox One controller really, compared to the late One controllers the Series controller feels like it's better built, like the plastic just feels more durable, one of the biggest improvements I detected was with the bumper buttons, LB and RB just feel a lot more sturdy and satisfying to push, a major improvement to what was always a weak point with the One controllers.
The textured grip is alright, but I prefer the rubber grip they had with a lot of special edition One controllers, just felt more comfortable to me. The textured triggers are kinda nice though, wasn't sure about it at first but it really keeps your fingers in place. The d-pad is a real big improvement, for games that use the d-pad I prefer the feel of the rounded d-pad over the old plus, especially when playing games like Street Fighter and THPS 1+2, it just feels smoother and more precise.
Honestly by now the Xbox controller feels like a nearly perfect controller, gotta give Microsoft some credit for the way they have been continuously improving it.
I do hope the XBOX Design Lab reopens soon. I want to make my own XBOX Series controller.
