Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers was originally supposed to be getting an Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S upgrade last year, but following a delay, the company has now revealed it will be arriving on March 18th.
As highlighted by Gematsu, the game will support 4K visuals on Xbox Series X and 1440p on Xbox Series S, while also offering higher resolution textures, farther draw distances, cross-save and cross-gen play, and much more.
"The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series version of Marvel’s Avengers offers higher frame rates and enhanced visuals compared to current generation of consoles at up to 4K resolution on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and 1440p for Xbox Series S. The game utilizes the consoles’ built-in SSD for dramatically faster loading and streaming times and takes advantage of their graphics power and memory to deliver higher-resolution textures, farther draw distances for high-resolution models, improved heroics and armor destruction, and other enhancements that leverage the full might of these new consoles to make gamers truly feel like a Super Hero.
Players who transfer their profiles and save games to next-gen consoles continue the action right where they left off. In addition, cross-gen play is supported so PlayStation 5 players can connect and play with their friends on PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series players can connect with their friends on Xbox One."
If you already own Marvel's Avengers, you'll be able to get access completely free of charge via Smart Delivery, and March 18th will also bring the Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect update to the game for free as well.

When's free-to-play?
Too little to late in my opinion now
Yeah... how about no... To a game that was over hyped...
I'll play it when its on GamePass
"Future Imperfect" is right. If they want to have any hopes of this game having any success on Series, they need to make this Free-to-Play or at least launch it on Game Pass.
If this drops into gamepass I'll definitely check it out. If it doesn't i definitely won't.
Needs to go F2P or Game Pass/PS+.
The userbase is dead and the content poor.
Should be cashing in on the hype for Wanda and Vision right now.
And then Winter Soldier and Falcon.
Instead we get 2 archers that nobody overly cares about compared to the bigger heroes.
@blinx01 okay whoa hold up. I agree with half of what you said but
First off the Disney Plus TV Hawkeye got delayed; so this content most likely would have hit at the same time.
Second some of us (who actually read comics) can’t stand the Wanda/vision drama lama because we know where it ends and trust me that storyline was awful. Some of us actually want to see Fraction/Aja Hawkeye which is what this is based on. You know because comic readers are a thing. And quite frankly since the characters don’t actually look like their movie counterparts maybe infusing some of the comic book might help.
Incidentally, Hawkeye, the movie version, isn’t really Hawkeye. This actually looks like they got Hawkeye right. Hello Pizza dog
Until this is f2p the only Avengers game I will play is Captain America and the Avengers on SNES. Tough but awesome old school beat em up.
This one never looked interesting, and the Spider-Man thing (though obviously not Crystal Dynamics fault) was irritating. They should have just made a story epic with more focus on combat and narrative. Then move on to a new project.
@Zochmenos maybe, maybe not shrugs but I’m burnt by it already. Look it’s pretty obvious they are going for a Young Avengers storyline; they’ll need the twins.
@Zochmenos umm I don’t have an inherent issue with adaptations, which is what you seem to be getting from this. Its the source material used in the first place. If the foundation is the same; you can only go so far.
But no I treat the adaptions as their own thing. But I’m not fond of them together in the comics, and none of the movies did anything to improve said impression.
@Zochmenos sighs a duck is still a duck; even if it is a different species of duck.
@Zochmenos it’s not a good or bad take. It’s my opinion and that’s that. Sorry but that’s the issue you don’t like my opinion.
Edit: Incidentally, “take” is an overused buzz word.
@Zochmenos my point is that if they used only an inkling of the original storyline; it’s still too dramatic. Marvel isn’t good at writing relationships no matter what the medium. Perfect example is Nat/Bruce.
Anyway I think I’ve said my part on this.
