Ryu Ga Gotoko Studio is continuing its relationship with Microsoft, as Judgment has been announced to be arriving for Xbox Series X|S on April 23.
Originally released in the West for PlayStation 4 back in 2019, Judgment joins the library of previously released Yakuza titles across the Xbox family. The Xbox Series X|S version will support 60 frames per second, refined visuals, faster load times, and all post-launch content from the original release.
While it’s set in the Yakuza universe, Judgment follows its own story, with a heavy emphasis on detective work. It’s a perfect starting point for newcomers, especially those who are intimidated by the backlog of Yakuza titles and want to sample the gameplay style.
There’s no word on whether the game will be joining Xbox Game Pass, but if it follows the same trend as the developers past releases, it seems like a likely bet.
Will you be checking out Judgment when it launches? Let us know in the comments below.

Really nice to see this game on Xbox. Another Japanese game for Xbox, at least Microsoft are trying with there Japanese support.
I've just started my journey with the Yakuza series (Yakuza 0), and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'll certainly be looking into this when it launches!
Oh hell yeah. Now announce FF7 Remake
Bought this on PS4 in a sale a while back but have yet to play it. If it comes to Game Pass like we expect, then I will hold off and play it on the Series X.
@Snake_V5 in the west maybe but this game won't be on xbox at all in Japan, seems like this generation will be the same as the last gen in terms of xbox trying to get into the Japanese Market
YES, great news!
Was hoping for this one to come to xbox.
Great to see the Yakuza themed games are joining the fray.
I just hope one day we get the Persona series on Xbox from SEGA as well.
Considering Like a Dragon didn't come to gamepass at launch, I don't think this will.
Pretty sure Sega's idea here is to sell us on the franchise via its backlog on Gamepass and then we buy the new titles like Like a Dragon, Judgement, and the eventual 3 remake.
@Snake_V5 @UltimateOtaku91 actually this one is going to be coming on in Japan. It’s even in the Japanese trailer, buts it’s digital only. https://youtu.be/zxhwTm-t21c You can see the Xbox logo
A bit disappointed it's not getting an Xbox One version to go with it. It does not sound like they are doing so much to the game that they could not add a baseline port for Xbox one.
Does not hurt me personally, since I have a Series X, but given all the other Yakuza games are playable on Xbox One, some might feel left out.
I've actually been looking this one up pretty regularly to see whether/when it was coming to xbox so this is pretty exciting
