We still don't know too much about BioWare's upcoming Dragon Age 4 just yet, but according to a report from Bloomberg, the developer has been given permission to drop all of the game's planned multiplayer features.
The report suggests that the success of Respawn's single-player adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, as well as the difficulties suffered by BioWare's live service game Anthem, have caused EA to scrap the multiplayer and live service elements of Dragon Age 4, and instead focus on creating an entirely single player focused RPG.
All of this has apparently taken effect over the past few months, and the small team of developers who had been working on Anthem's planned restructure will reportedly now join the Dragon Age 4 team as well.
What do you make of this news? Glad to hear it? Let us know down in the comments.

Well it might do the game some good focusing on single player only.
I think game studios push to many elements in some games and stretch their teams to thin.
When you think all the consoles and PC’s they also have to take into consideration during development and as side note Covid at the minute, it can’t be an easy thing to do.
I was really looking forward to this but after Anthem I'm going to hold off and see how it pans out before I buy.
Great news! I haven't played a single dragon age game but it seems like everyone is trying to jam multiplayer into every game because it's the cool thing to do. People still love great single player games...so make those.
If this means more resource are put into quality writing and design for good single-player content, I’m all for it. Also, if the Mass Effect trilogy is getting remastered...
Good! Not every game needs a multiplayer option. I find that its a feature that drains a lot more resources than it should for the little gain it actually gives for games intended really for single player only.
Or how's about 2 player local co op? Or is that just me?
OK, first EA is leaving game franchise decisions up to the developers.....and now EA is scrapping multiplayer entirely and making single-player only games?!
Am I dead? Is this heaven?
Let’s hope it benefits it, it should do. At this point I’ve lost all faith in Bioware to produce anything exceptional once again, hopefully they can prove me wrong.
I wouldn't have even minded an Anthem 2 but seeing them focus on singleplayer for Dragon Age 4 is great news. Let Bioware do what they're actually good at.
Sounds like positive news. RPGs are generally at their best when focussed single -player experiences. Love the previous DA games, even DA2!, so this cant arrive soon enough.
This is one of the best news I've ever heard.
This sucks for people who wanted multiplayer Dragon Age, but the fact that EA gave the ok for multiplayer getting the axe is incredibly interesting and has great potential for the future
Crikey
Wasn't it EA that wanted to focus on multiplayer, because people didn't enjoy single player?

Well this is good news they should focus on single player... Do we think that they finally remember making good games = cash? I remmber when EA fames were great I hope we can get back there some day. I did not like the single player jedi game they released recently mapsd to confining for me but it was a good game. Squadrons is soooooo much fun.
Like others, I'm good with this. I only have interest in playing through the story by myself for massive RPGs like this. If this can be at least as good as Origins and Inquisition, then that's all that matters.
